I got my first Festiva new in 1989. I drove it for 235,000 miles and it never let me down. It was destroyed by an SUV driver on a cell phone in 1996. I got my second Festiva used in 1996 and I drove it until 2012. I put 220,000 miles on it. It became extremely difficult to get parts for as the last Festiva was built in 1992. The Festivas were wonderful cars and got outrageous gas mileage. They were easy to fix (you could do it yourself). Interestingly enough, they used the same engine block as several Mazdas and so a large number of performance parts WERE available for them. This car in its time was sort of a cult car and had lots of EXTREMELY enthusiastic owners.

I went 248, and that small vehicle for 13 years. Also it didn't expire. It had been murdered with a deer that leaped out before me after I went 50 mph. I really could have set it. Radiator injury and cover was the degree of the accidents, but by that point, I believed the corrosion was simply too much along to conserve it. I'd have created the fixes easily had things you can do once again. Nowadays I would be operating it.

Close to the finish, I recall determining the fuel useage: 44-mpg. I have never had another vehicle that did aswell with gasoline. Of course if I properly remember, the container was like 8 gallons.

The second generation of Ford Festiva ranged from 1993 till 1996 and the model introduced was produced both between Ford and Kia. The new models were a little longer, wider and were equipped with 1.3 L Mazda B engine which is fuel injected with 73 hp (fifty four kW) (DIN).
