Held in Fort Lauderdale, “SUPERYACHT CAPITAL OF THE WORLD" The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which is referred to as FLIBS by folks in the industry, is the largest boat show in the world. Of course this depends on the unit of measure you choose, but at 278,000 square meters, multiple locations, attendance around 100,000 and exhibitors at around 1000 it is inarguably huge. A visitor can expect to see around 150,000 yachts and superyachts, exotic car displays and more. It is said to provide a statewide economic benefit of $857 million which is more than a $100 million a day.

I've illustrated the primary map for FLIBS every year since 2010. In that time I have changed the style, the software I use and changed things up to improve the map as the show has also grown. This has all taken place working closely with the staff of Show management which is now Informa. In addition to the primary map I illustrate maps for use in the phone app, on signs and for multiple locations including the convention center. I also design a transit map and a foldout map for this show.

I've put together the new illustrated map for the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. This years map will be a two page spread with one page fold out so I had to resize everything along with the usual exhibit and dock changes. I will add this map to my portfolio after the show, but for now please visit the map as it appears on the official show site. If you would like to see more of my maps please see my portfolio. To specifically see previous FLIBS maps please see the links below.

I've put together the new illustrated map for the 2020 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and this is my tenth year making this map and others for FLIBS. This years map wont appear in a program but it will appear on folding Z Cards at the show. Thanks to the awesome work of Z Cards North America for making those look so great every year. The map will also be on signage throughout the show for the convenience of visitors, but those are formatted differently and I'll post more on them later. I will add this map to my portfolio after the show or if it no longer appears on the show site, but for now please visit the map as it appears on the official show site. Thanks to my friends and colleagues at Informa Markets for putting in the work to put on the show. If you would like to see more of my maps please see my portfolio. An annual highlight of the show is the Windward VIP Club located on the main dock at Bahia Mar. The Windward VIP Club will take over the Captain’s Lounge and Tower Building with outdoor terraces for shore and water views, and extended show hours, as well as a premium open bar and concierge service. This year’s edition will also see the return of the Superyacht Village, showcasing some of the most spectacular superyachts in an exclusive marina.
