I thought this would be a pretty simple exercise. Find a 3/8? fuel line and primer bulb. Find a Merc fitting for 3/8? line for one end, and a JohnnyRude fitting for the other, pay the man, done. more

I have a Bayliner Rendezvous with a '91 or '92 Mercury V-6 175 HP 2.5 litre, carburated. The Merc is fed from a built in tank, and the 3/8? fuel line has what I guess is a ?standard? Merc connector at the engine.
So my questions are these:
They also implied that there were different sized fittings within engine brand. I didn?t know if he meant just fuel line diameter (e.g., 5/16?, 3/8? etc.), or connecter size, or what?
Hi Wind knot<br />You run the risk of a crummy fit, leaks, problems, anytime you buy after market fuel lines or fittings. Sometimes they fit sometimes they don't. I use these products anytime I can get away with it. Most of the time I have found it is less expencive and more depenable to bite the bullit and buy OEM. The thing that bugs me,is why can't the after market get it together with quality control. [links]

compare the hole in the end of the connector on your hose and your neighbors. if same size the rubber seal might be bad. as for the connector not going on all the way sounds like it might be the wrong one or a defective one. this happens. hope this helps here

?? Strange, then.<br /><br />Do a close compare to the one that fits. Then you'll know if the tank-part is worn.<br /><br />Might be a very small difference. more
Remember, the fuel pump is really only lifting the fuel up from the tank height, to the motor height.
As for the length yeah eventually it could become a problem but you would have enough hose coiled up in the boat to fill it LOL [links]

My bother in law has an Aquasport 22 walk around with a 225 & 15 kicker. The kicker would not run well of the tank. I guess its to hard to pull the fuel from the main tank.
The best thing would be to install a fuel filter/water separator in-line between your tank and outboards. <br /><br />These have a twist-on replaceable cartridge and a plastic drainable bowl. You can get the housings with dual in and dual out fittings (one tank/two outboards, two tanks/two outboards, two tanks/one outboard, etc.). They'll mount just about anywhere and they're inexpensive.

I would put a T connection int the line and do it that way. Or, do as Forktail suggested and run on elin efrom the tank to the Water Seperator and then two line out, one to each motor. Same basic principle.
Matters needing attention:
1. The fuel tank is only used for oil supply by the ship's external machine, and cannot be stored as a container of gasoline for a long time. If it is not needed for a long time, please pour gasoline into the metal oil tank
2. For short-term storage of gasoline in the external oil tank, please tighten the ventilation screw on the oil tank cover to avoid danger caused by volatilization, and put the oil tank in a cool place to avoid direct sunlight.
3.For example, due to the high temperature and large amount of volatile gasoline, the fuel tank will crack, we are not responsible for yamaha, yum, hipper and other domestic brands. Note: suzuki and mercury are not general. Apply to JOHNSON outboard oil and joint, oil and aging resistance.
Checked everything works the only difference from the original is that the pump is in the middle of the original displacement goes to the pump engine
