doel fins. our experience has been a very slight drop in wot.
slight increase in fuel economy. cruise speed down by perhaps 1/2 knot
or so. .but the ride was improved greatly. less of the side to side
motion GBs are known for . and yes in a following sea a better ride.
overall it is a positive for us. im sure others have their own opinions.
as far as how they look. come on guys. we bought our cat nearly 6 years
ago when cats REALLY werent cool. so that is a non issue for us.

I'd like to try them there permatrim's on my hydrasport.
As it is I literally have to drive the boat with the trim tabs.

Yes. the new 22's engines are "cantered" is what I call it. This is optional. The tops of the powerheads are tilted inboard slightly. This helps with turning as well. more

The Perms give the same perfeconomy data as the Doels. Except on the 260CC that I ran, the top speed was the same as without. I think the 260 gained so much WOT speed because it is a lot lighter then the cabin models. With the Perms installed I could not get the props to blo-out as I can on the Doel fin boats.

It was long awaited but obviously of value to GB and other boat owners as well. It is consistent with results that my dealer got last year: more

Lenda admits he hasn’t gone too far offshore in the Canyon Runner — yet. [links]

Then there’s the ride. “In a head sea, it’s the best I’ve ever had,” says Lenda. “It’s hard to describe, but the ride is just so soft. The hulls are displacement hulls, so the boat is not inclined to pound. It’s handled all the seas we’ve been in. You can cruise right along; you don’t have to be pulling back on the throttle.” here

Options include a choice of Cobalt blue or Fighting Lady yellow hull colors, a swim platform and ladder, bow pulpit with roller and electric windlass, marine head, and Ttop with rocket launchers. A removable stern seat also is available.

For Ben Lenda, life doesn’t get much better than fishing with friends on his Glacier Bay 260.

The Canyon Runner was in great shape, and had “all the bells and whistles,” says Lenda, including two GPS units, a “first-rate” Furuno fishfinder, console soft top with a full enclosure, and a console head. The boat also had a pair of 150-hp Yamaha HPDI outboards. “They’ve been great,” he says. Cruising speed is 21 to 23 mph at 3,500 rpm, and Lenda’s pushed the boat to 30 or 33 mph at 4,500 rpm. “They power along the boat very nicely.” here

Despite the fiberglass hull on this sportsfisherman, we recommend that the boat be kept dry and covered in order to preserve the value of the boat. Proper care and regular maintenance can help your craft stay nice and increase resale value. We have included some outboard engine information since a boat isn't much good without a good, reliable source of power.
