His brother Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed, passed away in 2015, the morning of September 18 due to a heart attack. His burial was held on September 19, 2015, in Bur Dubai’s Umm Hurair cemetery. here

Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum received his initial education at Rashid School for Boys. He then enrolled at Dubai School of Government and later graduated from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS).
