I have an 8 month old 2017 Honda Civic ex-t and my complaint is with the quality of the glass used for the windshield. Currently, I have several chips and gashes in it. This is just city driving as well. I have seen many other posts online of other owners experiencing the same issue as well as the windshield easily cracking. Heck, I was reading a review on the car from a very prominent company and the windshield cracked during the review. Anyways, it seems like the quality or maybe the design is very much an issue. I have never owned an automobile whose glass was susceptible to damage. here

2017 Honda Civic with 23,400 miles a/c once again stopped working. System was checked by Honda and re-charged under warranty but a/c is not working again. This created a dangerous driving scenario in which the front window would not defrost during a heavy rainstorm.

I was driving in the highway on a pouring rain and suddenly my windshield wiper stopped. This almost cause me accident. Also, when I press my gas on a really fast highway, I tried to floor the gas but it wasn't accelerating, I had to switch gear for it to work. here

My 2017 Honda Civic sunroof spontaneously shattered! the sky was mostly blue, the sun was shining, and the weather felt in the high 60s fahrenheit. I had departed my home in riverside, CA around 9am today (Sunday, January 7th) and decided to open the sunroof due to the nice weather. I put the sunroof in the fully open position prior to entering the freeway. Note that the sunroof was fully intact and without damage at that time. asI was driving east on the CA-91 freeway,I heard a loud pop and crackling noise ‪at about 9:20am‬. I also felt very small particles fall on myarms and faceafter the noise. Traffic was very light, so there were not any nearby vehicles at the time of the incident. confused and cautious, I tried to close my sunroof. When the sunroof came out from the roof enclosure, I could see it was shattered and a large hole was in the middle of the glass. After exiting the freeway and stopping in a nearby parking lot I examined my car. I looked around and saw there was small pieces of broken glass on the passenger seat and near my gear selector, as well as a few slightly bigger pieces in the floor of my backseat of my car. I visited a near by Honda dealer and they claimed it must have been hit by a rock or some other kind of debris. I find Honda's explanation next to impossible because the sunroof was in the roof enclosure with only the front lip of the glass exposed, however, the middle of the sunroof is where the damage is centered, which was inside of the roof enclosure at the time of this event, and therefore seems highly unlikely road debris could hit the glass inside the enclosure. I have filed a claim with my insurance as well. I purchased my Honda Civic car brand new in December 2016, and it did not have any damage to the sunroof from the time of purchase to the time of this event. [links]

Front windshield came defective from factory with air bubbles between the glass and the rubber affecting the integrity of it, that also makes the glass weak and it cracks too easy. My problem with the glass happened while the car was parked inside my garage with just letting the wiper fall on it while I was washing it. It represents a potential hazard and safety issue for me and my family.

Wipers do not park when turned off after use in the appropriate spot. They continue to run for several more cycles until they park in the middle of the windshild. This causes a view obstruction while driving and ultimately distracts the driver. The wipers have to be tunred on and off numerous times so that the wipers end up in the correct position at the bottom of the windshield. Also the continuous running of the wipers when the window is dry results in frequent replacement of the wiper blades in order to prevent scratching on the windshield by the worn out rubber insert. I believe this is caused by the wiper motor malfunctioning.

Wipers will not park in correct spot blocking visibility, also will not stop and can continue going for minutes on end after being switched off. This is very distracting to my driving. Feel Honda should own up to this issue since it is a common problem on many of their vehicles. [links]

OK, I have a 2005 Honda Civic DX 4dr Sedan with a 5 speed manual Transmission, Standard everything, no power windows, A/C, plain basic setup. So the other day suddenly my Gauge cluster stops working, it still lights up and all other lights work as well like the turn signal indicators, but the gauges themselves are dead and parked in the "zero" position, also my intermittent wipers don't work, but the regular speed and fast speed work. This all happened a few days ago. My question is this . is there a controller unit that operates these functions? That maybe could be "flashed", or does the gauge cluster unit have control of this? I tried to check for a ground wire or something loose, but couldn't see anything. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.

The wiper motor could have failed; it could be receiving the correct signals from the switch via the wires, but be unable to act accordingly. The circuits and windings inside wiper motor housings are seldom user-serviceable; obtain a replacement from a dealer or junk yard.

Windshield wipers are powered by a motor that receives 12-volt power through a switched wire. Complete failure of the wipers to work can be a complicated troubleshoot, but working with a motor that still runs on one speed is less challenging. Diagnosis can be time-consuming, but it is not complex and requires only one tool.

That the motor operates at one speed confirms power to the switch is good, but the switch itself could have failed. Use a multimeter bridged between the upstream supply and each of the contacts while operating the switch. If a reading above 10 volts is made on each contact, the switch is fine and the problem is downstream. If the reading is made only on the high-speed terminal, the switch has failed. Inside the switch are a number of terminals that are sprung to make contact as the control is turned or slid like a lever; these contacts can lose their “springiness” and fail to make contact. Further, they can become clogged with atmospheric contaminants that act as insulation. That the high speed -- the least frequently used -- selector still works suggests the tension has gone from the low and intermediate speed contacts. If they can be accessed and bent to create more tension this is a temporary fix at best; replace the switch.

Having ascertained that the switch is good, test the wiring harness. If the wiring harness is connected at either or both ends with a multiblock, consult a workshop manual -- many manufacturers and enthusiast websites publish schematics online -- to learn which wires and which terminals convey which wiper speed signals; draw a plan on a piece of paper showing the wire colors, terminal positions and their functions. Use your multimeter to bridge between the low speed terminals on the switch and the wiper motor; with the switch moved to “Low” you should get at least a 10-volt reading. If you do, the wiring is fine; if you do not, the wiring has failed. Repeat the exercise with the intermediate speed. If both circuits are sound, the problem is in the motor; if they are not, replace the harness. more

Faulty grounds are renowned for causing a multitude of seemingly unrelated problems. Most wiper motors have a dedicated ground wire in their harness, however some utilize the bolts securing them to the body as a ground. Trace the ground wire from the motor to its mounting point, then scour both the underside of the connector and the mounting point on the chassis with very course sandpaper -- 60-grit or heavier is recommended -- then replace, ensuring the fastener is securely tightened. Following the instructions on the packaging, use dielectric grease at the contact points for an even better repair. If working on a vehicle which does ground through its fasteners, remove the bolts and lift the motor away from its mount, then relate the procedure detailed above to the contact surfaces. Some modern vehicles use a relay or control module between the switch and the motor. These components are seldom user-serviceable, and even diagnosis can be difficult for the untrained technician. If all other tests show good function, take the vehicle to a certified auto electrician for final diagnosis.
