The caveat here is that the owner (or owners, for more vintage models) has taken great care of their boats. Many Sea Rays were manufactured over the years, and therefore of the high number of used boats on the market, many are in bad shape.

Finally, the Sundancers are larger cruisers designed for distance and overnight journeys, ranging from 32 to 37 feet. [links]

One exception might be the engines. While they are considered to be generally reliable (Sea Ray uses many Mercruisers), some owners feel they are underpowered, probably due to trying to keep the price down. more

Some owners of the Sundancer line of Sea Rays from around 2000 report that poorly-designed exhaust systems allowed water to splash back into the engines, requiring rebuilds.

Sea Ray Boats has a strong reputation for making diverse lines of quality sport boats, bowriders, deck boats, and various other lines from 18 up to 65 feet. Even as the industry has changed around them, they are known for consistent quality boats.

For example, according to NADA, a 2015 Sundancer 310 retailed for $213,767 has an average resale value on the mid-East Coast of $135,900. That is a depreciation value of 36%, about average for a boat of that vintage.

Boat will take more than you can, I've got the older '99 model, spacy, especially mine with the full bracket and full transom. Mine is the current Sea Boss model 235CC. Fit, finish, ride is not on par with the top tier boats, but neither is the price tag, and the resale holds up. Very high gunnels, and spacious Potti in the CC. Good livewells, the F225 is a good motor for it, should push it to close to 50 MPH with a light load.

I'm about to repower with a Zuki 225, and hope to keep the boat for the next six years at least. With 120 gallons fuel, it is a blue water boat on a budget, and very economical to operate, for a boat. [links]

We find this free app (with ads and in-app purchases) a top pick for its high reliability. Unlike many apps it doesn’t crash, lock up, or fail to deliver the data you want, when you want it. It includes real-time animated weather radar on a background map that’s easy to zoom in and out on, and also includes short and long-term forecasting. more

Yes, the United States Coast Guard has its own app, and while strictly speaking it isn’t 100-percent about marine weather, it has some valuable weather data boaters along any coast will want: free access to the latest weather info coming from the NOAA weather buoy nearest to your location. Buoyweather is a longtime favorite of boaters for its easy navigation, solid accuracy, and map location-based forecasts. Detailed wind and wave forecasting, not available from many apps, is a big plus. It worked just fine for us when we tried it on a Samsung Galaxy S10, but customer reviews do indicate that the current 1.2.3 version works best on Apple products and may crash at times on some older Androids.

they have a reputation for grenading and usually smashing a rod through the cases, it seems to be the water ingestion problem due to the air intake setup,it is a wild engine when it runs I personally don't trust them but others may have a different opinion

Are you only considering seadoos? what about kawasaki? I have had both the last two summers, and am liking the kawasakis more and more.

What kind of Kaws do you have? I own three Kawasaki MX'ers and love em. Maybe I should expand my horizons past Seadoo. here

There is no reason to use wood in a boat anymore, the foam sheets provide a much better structural core for the glass than wood does.

Now they are probably cutting costs on the foam type, layers of glass, and attention to detail in the layup/ production process.

I worked with a guy that bought one about 5 years ago. Went with him on the maiden voyage, the Mako stick-on letters on the gunwale fell off during the trip from Denham Springs to Lake Pontchartrain. here
