The how and why of an alleged democide range then is critical and it is not determined casually. Now, I have elsewhere published the methods that I use 7 to assess the democide of a regime, and should point out here summarily that this is an attempt to bracket the unknown and precisely unknowable democide by seeking a variety of published estimates, and most important, the highest and lowest ones from pro and anti-government sources. 8 I then consolidated these for different aspects of a regime's democide, such as for summary executions, prison deaths, or disappearances, into low to high ranges. To get an overall range for a regime, as of that for the Khmer Rouge, I then sum all the consolidated lows to get an overall low democide, the consolidated highs to get an overall high. here

Given the extent and detail of these books, the reader may be surprised that the primary purpose was not to describe democide itself, but to determine its nature and amount in order to test the theory that democracies are inherently nonviolent. They should have no wars between them, the least foreign violence and government related or directed domestic violence (revolutions, coups, guerrilla war, and the like), and relatively little domestic democide. I have substantiated the war, foreign, and domestic violence parts of this theory in previous works 3 and took up the research associated with this book and its three predecessors in order to test the democide component. As will be seen, the results here clearly and decisively show that democracies commit less democide than other regimes. These results also well illustrate the principle underlying all my findings on war, collective violence, and democide, which is that the less freedom people have the more violence, the more freedom the less violence. These chapters are ordered from the greatest of these killers to the lesser ones, as one can see from the table of contents. Part 2 presents the four deka-megamurderers , beginning with a chapter on the Soviet Union's near 61,000,000 murdered, then including chapters on Communist China and Nazi Germany, and ending with a chapter on the now virtually unremembered killing of the Chinese Nationalist regime. Since these four regimes were the subjects of the previous three volumes, 5 the four chapters simply summarize the democide and conclusions. I hope I will be excused for using Greek prefixes for labeling these regimes ( deka - means ten or tens; mega - means million), but we need concepts for the various levels of government murder and there is no comparable English term ("murderer of tens of millions" is clumsy).

Then what is covered here? This book presents the primary results, tables, and figures, and most important, an historical sketch of the major cases of democide--those in which 1,000,000 or more people were killed by a regime. The first chapter is the summary and conclusion of this work on democide, and underlines the roles of democracy and power. Following this, chapter 2 in Part 1 introduces the new concept of democide . It defines and elaborates it, shows that democide subsumes genocidal killing , as well as the concepts of politicide and mass murder , and then tries to anticipate questions that the concept may arouse. It argues that democide is for the killing by government definitionally similar to the domestic crime of murder by individuals, and that murderer is an appropriate label for those regimes that commit democide. Readers that are satisfied with the thumbnail definition of democide as murder by government, including genocidal killing, 4 can ignore this chapter. It is essential, however, for those with a professional interest in the results or wish to question the conclusions.

What percentage of people do you believe are truly saved? If you say “ALL,” then you are obviously NOT a true Christian believer. 1st John 2:22 teaches that anyone who denies Jesus Christ is a LIAR. You've Probably Never Really Heard The Gospel More than likely, you've heard all sorts of secular and religious nonsense taught throughout your life, that are false teachings concerning salvation. Well, I'm right now going to share the truth from God's Word with you, so you can be forever and securely saved, that is, born-again. Being saved is very easy. Salvation happens when a person acknowledges their sinnership, coming to God on the basis of being a hell-deserving sinner, and BELIEVES the Gospel. The “Gospel” is defined in 1st Corinthians 15:1-4 as three things: Christ DIED on the cross for our sins; He was BURIED; and thirdly, Jesus RESURRECTED from the dead three days later for our justification. If that's your only hope for eternal life, then you are saved my friend. We are saved by BELIEVING. If you've never received Jesus as you personal Savior, please do so now. John 1:12, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” But you ask, “What about repentance? Don't I have to stop living in deliberate sin to be saved?” No, turning away from sins to be saved is one of the biggest lies of Satan, which has caused millions of people to go to Hell forever. You cannot show me even one verse from the Bible that says to “turn from sin” or “repent from sin” to be saved. Romans 3:19 teaches that the PURPOSE of God's Law (i.e., the Ten Commandments) is to show man his sinful condition when compared, so that “ALL THE WORLD MAY BECOME GUILTY BEFORE GOD” (Romans 3:19b). And then when men see their guilty condition, they REPENT (i.e., change their mind), and BELIEVE the Gospel to be saved. This is exactly what Galatians 3:24-26 teaches. This is what Romans 10:3-4 teaches. “Christ is the END OF THE LAW, TO THEM THAT BELIEVE.” Oh friend, have you been deceived? The Devil has crept into most of the churches today with a false repentance that gives men religion without the new birth in Christ Jesus. Eternal life is a free “GIFT,” which does not impose any obligations upon the recipient to forsake the sinful world, cease from sinful behavior, surrender all to Christ, declare “Jesus as Lord,” and confess Him before men. These are all “WORKS,” which are prohibited in God's plan of salvation. That's why it is called “THE SIMPLICITY THAT IS IN CHRIST” (2nd Corinthians 11:3-4). The biggest culprit, the most satanic source of these false doctrines, is the new counterfeit modern Bible versions which the churches have embraced wholeheartedly. Most religious churchgoers today are as naive cattle headed into the slaughterhouse. We are saved simply by believing on Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, Who died, was buried and and raised up. Acts 10:43, “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.” Please understand—all one's good deeds, keeping of the Ten Commandments, water baptism, church membership, communion, penance, confirmation and praying are A ROAD TO HELL if you place any trust in them to save you. Salvation is solely by Christ's righteousness, and not by any self-righteousness of our own. Titus 3:5, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us. ” God DIDN'T give us the Ten Commandments to earn our way to Heaven; but rather, to show us our sinful condition and need for a Savior. Galatians 3:24, “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.” Amen! Don't rely upon anything or anyone other than the Son of God, Jesus, to forgive your sins. Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Whosoever means YOU. “Call” means “to appeal unto” i.e., “to go to Jesus to be saved.” If you come to the Savior, He will not turn you away (John 6:37). Isaiah 1:18 teaches that God will forgive the vilest sinner who comes through the Son of God. All that God the Father asks is that we come to Him through His dear Son for forgiveness (John 14:6). Salvation is not a prayer! Salvation is not a decision. Salvation is not an experience. Salvation is a supernatural act of God in response to one's faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life is freely given (Romans 5:15), freely offered (Romans 10:13), and freely received (Revelation 22:15). To be saved, you simply stop trying to work your way to Heaven, and you rest in the finished work of Christ. That's what the Sabbath Day pictured in the Old Testament. Jesus is our Sabbath, in Whom we rest for salvation. Our faith plus the Gospel equals salvation (Hebrews 4:2). As I've shown you, the “Gospel” is the DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). The only way to Heaven is to come as a guilty sinner and cast one's self at the feet of Jesus for forgiveness, BELIEVING the Gospel. Romans 4:5-6, “But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works.” Did you read that? . HIS FAITH IS COUNTED FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS. You don't need to stop sinful behavior TO BE SAVED. Whatever changes God expects will be dealt with ONCE YOU ARE SAVED, and BECAUSE YOU ARE SAVED. Can anyone give up all their sinful bad habits? Jesus asked in John chapter 8, “Who is without sin among you?” Salvation is not about us giving up our sins to be saved. Salvation is about us admitting that we are guilty, hell-deserving, sinners; and therefore, we need a Savior to redeem us. Jesus has the nail-scarred hands and feet. Jesus is that precious Savior. Once we are saved, God will work in our heart to make the necessary changes. A changed life is the FRUIT of the indwelling Holy Spirit, and not a part of the ROOT of saving-faith. Salvation is solely by Christ's righteousness (Romans 10:3-4; 2nd Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 6:33). Faith is the only righteous thing that I can do! Perhaps you say, “Preacher you're just trying to scare me!” You're absolutely right! Proverbs 1:7, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Matthew 10:28, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
