The obvious questions now are, "What is the boat rated for?" and "What does 'does not cut it' mean?"<br /><br />Tell us about your boat, what it is rated for and what you want it to do.<br /><br />12' is a very small boat. It is a 1971 mfg car top fisherman, and is rated for a 10. It will not get on plane with all the extra weight. It will do 9-10mph (but with a huge wake). Before all the additions and a long winter of me gaining weight it would do 13-16mph, and with just me and gear 20mph(all gps). The performance of motor is great when I am alone, but lately that is not often! I have seen two of the same boats both with 15's and the owners said it seemed fine. I also rebuilt the transom and beefed it up quite a bit last season.

We brought a engine from them and they were awesome. I highly recommend them, they were professional, honest. So happy. here
We recently purchased a yamaha 15fmhs 2 stroke engine from here – there is nothing else to say other than the whole team are amazing!

Five-stroke engine is currently a concept engine invented by Gerhard Schmitz in 2000. The goal of the five-stroke engine is to have higher efficiency with lower fuel use. To increase efficiency a secondary cylinder is added as an expansion processor to extract more energy from the fuel.
The term six-stroke engine has been applied to a number of alternative internal combustion engine designs that attempt to improve on traditional two-stroke and four-stroke engines. Usually, one cylinder makes two strokes while the other makes four strokes, giving six piston movements per cycle. …
Because combustion takes place with each revolution of the crankshaft with a 2-stroke, this format puts out more power than a 4-stroke engine and the power has more instantaneous delivery. This are some reasons why 2-stroke engines have a long history of use on many different types of motorcycles.

Me and just the boat it will hit 32 mph on glass days. 2 guys and gear takes it down to about 20 to 22 mph.

dont tell me the lettering on the 15 weighs more than the 9.9's.
I thought they were the same except for the carb..and a 15 hp carb cant weigh 5 lbs more than a 9.9 carb..
do you know why one weighs more than the other.
