A more complex itinerary change involves creating a unique itinerary length by combining all or a portion of several cruises without changing the departure/arrival city. For example, a 7 night sailing of Navigator of the Seas may be created by combining 3 and 4-night sailings or a short itinerary may be created for Oasis Class or
Liberty of the Seas by splitting a 7 night sailing into two sailings (a 3 night and a 4 night) if Royal Caribbean® is willing to sell the resulting unique itinerary. While possible, significant costs may apply for this type of itinerary change and it is always best to find an existing itinerary whenever possible. more

Pricing varies based on ship, sail date, itinerary and level of customization. Actual pricing must be provided by your Charter Sales Manager, but the following ranges may be used in the pre-qualification process to determine viability:

The simplest type of itinerary customization involves changing ports of call within an itinerary while keeping the departure/arrival city and dates as scheduled. Generally speaking, all itineraries from the U.S. must involve at least one foreign port of call. Incremental costs associated with the custom itinerary request will be included in the initial charter quote and/or provided as an optional line item. more

The charter rate will be based on full double occupancy regardless of how many people sail, pre-paid gratuities based on double occupancy and any applicable fuel surcharge based on full double occupancy. The client will be responsible for taxes & fees based on the actual number of guests and will be required to pay for the
actual gratuities should more than double occupancy sail. Additional taxes & fees will apply for triple and quad berths above double occupancy.

One of the most significant factors affecting the cost of a private cruise is the yacht itself. Intuitively, more luxurious yachts will cost more while more simple yachts are more affordable. Similarly, larger yachts cost more, although this can be offset by splitting the costs among a larger group of travelers. Using the example cited above, a Galapagos yacht charter can start at $600 per person, per day, for a simple yacht such as the 16 guest Beluga and go as high as $1,000 per person per day for the luxurious 20-guest sister ships and prestigious Relais & Châteaux members Origin, Theory & Evolve. As prices get higher, expect larger cabins with view windows and upscale amenities, more deck space, award-winning cuisine with five-star service and sometimes onboard Jacuzzi, sauna and workout facilities.

In the Wild West of internet shopping for yacht charters, be aware of this sometimes-deceptive practice.

As the small ship expedition cruising industry matures, private cruises are the next logical evolution of up-close and experiential travel by yacht or small ship. The thought of sharing a private cruise with an intimate group of friends and family is very appealing, and we foresee this style of travel’s popularity only increasing. The benefits of a private cruise include exclusivity, flexibility and savings, but the only downside for some last-minute researchers is that you typically have to book farther in advance to ensure the ship can be available for your group. To get the best date and price when you charter a yacht, we recommend you book early and talk to an expert with experience in full boat charter cruises. Contact us anytime to receive a personalized charter recommendation from our team, or continue exploring the process in our blog post How to Charter a Yacht in 7 Steps.

The timing of when you charter a yacht will affect the price. Holidays and high season will cost the most, while off-season and shoulder season will offer the most affordable prices. Of course, this will depend on the destination. For instance, a private Alaska yacht charter cruise in Glacier Bay National Park aboard the historic Catalyst & Westward costs about $525 per person per day in the shoulder season vs. $655 per person per day in the high season. more

PRO: Children will have access to Loft 19, as long as their parents are staying in a Carnival Excel suite (of which several have room for up to five guests) or have rented a cabana. [links]

CON: Said access will come at a price… and that price will include a cabana. And how much will those cabanas cost? A full-day pass, allowing access from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., will run $50 on port days, and $150 on sea days. Want week-long access to a cabana? That can be had for $900 per cabana. All prices are in addition to an 18-percent gratuity. more

With information about the new area still a bit limited, we thought it would be worthwhile to look at what is known, especially since how much access a Mardi Gras passenger has to Loft 19 will be directly tied to the type of stateroom they’re staying in. It’s worth knowing what Loft 19 has to offer, who’ll get in for free, and who’ll have to pay — and how much — so you’ll have a better understanding of the space and be able to decide whether booking a suite with automatic access is a good option for your family.

The trend isn’t likely to reverse anytime soon. In fact, Royal Caribbean’s upcoming Spectrum of The Seas will be the line’s first ship to offer a new class of premium suites which will require keycard access and feature a private lounge, restaurant, and outdoor space. Sound familiar? Whereas Carnival’s suite-centric retreat will be Loft 19, a similar concept will be known as The Balcony on Royal Caribbean.

PRO: The top-deck area will, by nature of its limited access, offer a great escape from the rest of the ship. It features a private pool and lots of lounging options, not to mention a bar, so it should easily become a wildly popular retreat. here

Cruise prices start around $79 per person per night. This price is based on a family of four, sharing an inside cabin (no windows) on a Carnival Cruise sailing during the summer months. So for a 7 night cruise - $79 per person x 7 nights x 4 people in your family - You're looking at a minimum price of @ $2200 for your family. That means your family is spending $315 per day for your accommodations, meals and ship board activities like water parks and broadway style shows!
