Staying in a marina for a few days means that you could pay up to $3.50 per foot of your boat to stay in the marina. On the other hand, if you decide to stay for an entire month you could pay as little as $10. There are often weekly rates available as well.

Marinas are generally safe because they are responsible for everything in them. When you pay to store your boat in their marina they promise to keep it protected. That’s why they may have locked gates and keys, security guards, and more. here

On a nightly basis, RV campgrounds are far more affordable than most marina stays we’ve had. We’ve found marina costs to be 2-5 times the cost of typical RV site we tend towards. Except for Causeway Cove Marina & RV Park, where RV spots can actually be more expensive than the slips! more

As far as costs go, there are some major differences that can impact your costs to stay at marinas:

Most marinas need your overall length (LOA – Length Over All, we’ve also heard Length Over Air) so they can place you in an appropriate slip. But there’s a lot of variance over just what LOA includes. Sometimes it means from the tip of the bow spirit to swim platform and sometimes it includes any dinghy davit system overhang.

How Often Should You Clean a Boat? If possible, at least rinse and dry your boat after each outing, especially if you are in saltwater and keep the boat on a trailer. You don't have to use soap each time; in fact, that could break down any wax you applied. [links]

We recommend having your boat's hull cleaned at minimum once a month. In the summer, a cleaning once every 2 weeks is ideal. Check out our rates page for prices! Fouling is a term to describe the process at which the hull of a boat accumulates marine and plant growth. [links]

For the average recreational boater, cleaning your boat once a month is probably adequate. One thing to be sure of is that any growth that does develop between cleanings has not attached itself to your boat's propellers or water intakes for the engine as that could cause damage to your vessel's engine. more

A general rule of thumb is to budget $20 per foot per month for your boat's slip. Remember that slip sizes are fixed and may not exactly match up to the length of your boat and that most marinas will charge by the slip length you're using rather than the length of your boat.

The price of hull cleaning will depend on the selection between a diver and a ROV, in addition to the vessel size. Total cost will be in the range of $5,000 to $50,000 (USD). more

Unlike a car, which you can park anywhere, you need a specific dock or slip to store your boat. That means you're going to need to rent or buy a slip at a marina. And unlike parking spaces, which can accommodate just about any car, your boat will require a slip suited to it. more

If you are interested in berthing at any marina, contact it for further information. Most marinas have websites and respond to emails, though others prefer phone. All contact details are listed. here

Some marinas have distinct, and distinctly-priced, zones; we may list these individually if appropriate. A few marinas, mainly in Ireland, do not keep berths open over winter (offering storage ashore instead): these usually give per-month prices, which we have converted to match the majority.

Other marinas do not offer annual contracts, but if a boat can be kept there long-term, we include them and show what equates to annual average prices.

Some marinas included early or advance payment discounts in the listed price (as some were applicable at time of initial print publication). If this is the case we say so and show any percentage discount we were advised of. here
