Some dealers include the installation while others may charge for it separately, adding to your expenses. If the installations costs aren’t included, then plan on spending another $500 to $1,000. here

When buying a boat lift, you may find it cheaper to go for a third party boat dealer rather than the manufacturer. Also, consider looking slightly used models to save up to 60 percent.

This type of lift can carry loads ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 pounds. This lift can easily be moved due to its lightweight designed and will commonly be electric powered, making it very easy to control. here

Vertical boat lifts can cost anywhere from $6,000 to more than $20,000, depending on the boat lift and the additional features you may want to add. For example, adding a power feature could increase the price.

The cost of a boat lift will depend on the size of the boat that needs to be lifted, the type of lift, the brand and where it’s purchased. The average price is usually between $2,000 to $20,000+. As a general rule of thumb, plan on budgeting $1,000 per ton and $500 per piling when budgeting.

My BIL in Lake of the Ozarks,MO. paid $35,000 last year, for a floating aluminum dock, for his 28" pontoon boat. It has a roof, storage room and 2 small slips for jet skis. It has lifts for the boat and jet skis, that you fill up with air to lift the boats out of the water.
In Florida where I live it is more common to have the electric lifts. I had one put in 8 years ago for $6,000. It included 30 feet of a 4' wide walkway.
If you decide to have a boat dock and lift installed, it is usually a good idea to have it accommodate as big a boat as you can afford. This way if you decide to get a bigger boat, in the future it will fit your setup.

can make it easier to embark/disembark from boat, particularly on fixed docks in tidal areas.

Cost of the lift is going to depend on the weight rating. Around here, I see 6,000 lb rated lifts for about $5k.

These types of lifts you don’t see too often, but they basically are able to lift the boat out of the water using tanks that are inflated to lift the boat our of the water. The benefit of these floating lifts is that due to the compact design of the tank, you don’t need much water to lift your boat, which makes these great for lakes and reservoirs with constantly changing water levels. Cantilever boat lifts are known for their simplicity and reliability, and while they use steel cables, their operation is really quite simple. These come with a winch wheel, which allows you to mechanically crank your lift up and down. more

You can save money by completing the work as a DIY project, in which case the major expenses are renting or purchasing tools, purchasing materials and dedicating your personal time to the task. However, making a dock that's safe and meets applicable building codes requires skill, so in many cases, it's better to leave the project to a professional. more

A dock usually comprises wooden or plastic decking. Wooden decking rots rapidly without regular treatment and is usually best for decks that don't come into contact with the water to minimize degradation and reduce the impact of potentially hazardous chemicals to the water's ecosystem. [links]
