Keno, now that looks pretty old school. I have read on the forums about the glass bowl fuel pumps, but never seen one. So thanks for that! I bought a 1986 ski nautique 2001 last summer, it has been nothing but problems so far. But trying to get all the bugs worked out on her. Just replaced the stingers, floor, flotation foam and carpet. Now on to the engine, last summer it would start great every time at the ramp, sit there and idle in the lake perfect. I would go pick my wife up from the dock and cruse over to this cool cove with no issues. But that’s when the troubles would start, after sitting for a couple hours she would struggle to start, she would die at low rpms in no wake zone a major struggle above 1500 rpms. So I bought a new quick fuel carb, a new fuel pump and new fuel lines. If the problem persists I guess it is electrical? Basically I have no idea what I am doing and trying to figure it out along the way. Hopefully we figure it out this summer! Thanks again for your help! [links]
Keno, thank you so much! It’s going on a Ford 351 commander, the pump I bought looks identical to the one on the left! You helped me out a ton! I kinda figured that spot where the Allen key is could be the ticket, but wanted to be sure. Don’t want the boat to catch on fire or worse.
This site is pretty amazing, I could not find anything on the web. Thank you again.

At oRiely $20 bucks but, can be had online for $12?or $8 from sierra..go figure. anyhow what I am wondering is if there is an opinion between the Wix Filter 6 micron and the Sierra 10 micron. of course you can say what you want about microns but, who really knows? I also found the stock filter to be cheaper also online. thoughts?
I assume this is like starting an oil thread but, maybe since the below info was out there in 2005 maybe there are some changes out there?
More Importantly ----I have put 20 hours on boat and have had to change the filter now three times??I assume this is not the norm?
