I have a variable speed pump, so I can use different speeds - 1800 rpm for the suction cleaner, 3400 rpm for the top skimmer, and a 3-way valve changes position depending on the speed. System worked great until last week. here

The cleaner has been working well for 2+ years, but this week I noticed the walls are not clean - the cleaner won't go past the vertical point on the pool walls using a pump speed that used to work for this. more

I have a question about the Hayward Aquanaut 200 - can worn wheel bearings affect it's ability to climb walls?

Pipa

The wheels spin freely on their bearings, but I'm wondering if brand new bearings is what I need - I can't think of anything else.
I put it all back together, and at 1800 rpm the wheel speed is about 10 rpm - it needs to be 12-14 to climb walls. With the larger flow piece I can increase the speed to 2800 without causing the pump to labor too much, and the wheel speed is now 12. It's climbing higher now but not all the way. 2 years ago, 2800 rpm would drive the cleaner up and out of the water, making a sound like the Kraaken! here

So yesterday I spent most of the day working on the pool. Replaced cartridge filters - that helped a bit by producing more suction at the pump inlet; at 1800 rpm the suction changed from -4 in Hg to -8 (valve set to flow from the cleaner) with the new filters. Cleaned all baskets and checked the cleaner hoses for obstructions. Took the cleaner apart to make sure the vanes were driving the wheels correctly. Cleaner has new tires. I also found the large size flow piece that you change in the bottom of the cleaner - it was using a medium size (which used to work!).

For those of you interested in world history, the 'Calatrava' cross was the emblem used by the first military order founded in Castile, Spain and confirmed as a Militia by Pope Alexander III on September 26, 1164. 'Calatrava' means "Fortress of Rabah" and is also the name of a castle in Spain recovered from the Moors in 1147. The 'Calatrava' cross was originally worn by the Order Calatrava —composed by monks that later became knights— as a red Greek cross with fleur-de-lis ends.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5167A-001 is the perfect sporty yet elegant watch for the Spring and Summer months. Since today is March 21st, and it's officially the Spring equinox in the northern hemisphere, we thought it would be appropriate to welcome the warmer weather with a watch that is perfectly suited for water activities and hot humid swelling wrists thanks to its rubber 'tropical' strap. Furthermore, this year Patek Philippe will be celebrating its 175th anniversary and we only wonder what Baselworld 2014 will have in store for us.

The iconic Patek Philippe Aquanaut Jumbo was originally launched in 1997 under ref. 5065A —measuring 38 mm in diameter— or in a slightly smaller size as ref. 5066 'Mid-Size' —measuring 36 mm—, as a casual Patek alternative with lines and design slightly inspired by the iconic Nautilus. The Aquanaut, is the only Patek Philippe watch fitted with a rubber strap and ready to take on all types of activities inside or outside the water. more

This wonderful and iconic Patek Philippe sometimes referred to as the 'perfect first Patek' or even negatively called by tasteless collectors as the 'poor man's Patek' or the 'Daewoo of Pateks' is nothing but exceptional. Frankly, every time we hear these type of comments when it comes to timepieces, we feel sorry for those making them.

Since its launch, the dial on the Aquanaut was meant to replicate the attractive texture of the strap; however, we feel that the current dial looks less like the strap and more like the earth globe with wedges from where it takes some of its inspiration. Frankly, we personally prefer the original dial with raised 'guilloché' square pattern and the perfectly balanced look with the '3' Arabic number next to the date aperture. Regardless, this watch is ready for those watchlifestylers seeking a more inconspicuous wrist presence without compromising quality, elegance or price value. Furthermore, the fact that we watch is fitted with a screw-down crown and waterproof to a 120 meters, makes it a perfectly suited timepiece to be worn on the beach or by the pool while sporting your Vilebrequin trunks. here

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5167A-001 is fitted with a stainless steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter —2 mm larger than its predecessor— with highly polished and satin-brushed finished areas and a slightly rounded octagonal shape, the Aquanaut is a watch that comes with great proportions and a timeless design. The embossed black dial —ruthenium looking with a brownish hue— features white gold applied Arabic numerals and a white minute track.

In order to switch to a nine-part image, you would generate the nine parts and change ThemeDescriptors +button to use nine elements in the array passed to PatternColor(). For an example of a nine-part PatternColor, see +themedStandardTextField.

In my experience, drawing widgets using code is rarely a good idea even in Cocoa. Many programmers are not used to dealing with artistic considerations and are more of the engineer mindset, so you end up having to iterate for a long time to come up with pixel perfect drawing code. Images provide precision and flexibility for the designer.

Button heights in Cappuccino are currently fixed, because buttons are drawn using a three-part image-based bezel (left, center, right), which means there is no way to stretch them vertically without looking bad.

There are three new references of the stainless-steel Aquanaut Luce ($20,108), with new colors – black, white or khaki green – and a larger 38.8mm size. The green khaki color was introduced to the men’s Aquanaut in 2019 and was more than year ahead of its time in terms of trends—green is the big dial color for 2021. It is also a nod to the original model of 2004, which had a dial in a slightly different shade of green. The matching rubber composite strap has a patented fold-over clasp secured by four independent catches. It contains the quartz caliber E 23-250 S C with sweep seconds and a date window. The new 5267/200A references replace the previous Ref. 5067 models (in black, safari brown, pearly white and blue-gray). The bezel is set with 48 diamonds totaling 1.11 carat and is water-resistant to 120 meters.

The other 18-karat rose gold Aquanaut Luce, the 5268/200R-001 ($49,914), has also been bumped up to the larger 38.8 mm case size, and it contains an automatic movement, the 26-330 S C, with date and seconds and a stop-seconds function for setting time to the exact second. The dial is white with applied gold numerals that are coated with lume—a must feature on sports watches. The bezel is set with 48 diamonds totaling 1.11 carat. It is water-resistant to 120 meters and comes on a new integrated matte-white rubber strap, in case you wanted to take your precious cargo for a dip.

The big news for men is the first-ever white gold Aquanaut Chronograph Ref. 5968G ($69,194), comes in either the same khaki dial color, with a matching integrated strap, or in a new midnight blue color. Patek Philippe launched the Aquanaut Chronograph in 2018 in steel. It has a 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock that echoes the bezel’s rounded octagonal shape. The automatic caliber CH 28-520 C movement comes with a rare flyback function on which the center chronograph hand also functions as a permanent seconds hand. The 42.2 mm case is, like the other watches in the new Aquanaut collection, water-resistant to 120 meters.

The new ladies’ Aquanaut Luce Ref. 5269/200R-001 ($40,216) has an upgraded quartz movement, the Patek Philippe caliber E 23-250 S FUS 24H, which adds a second time zone to the watch. It uses two central hour hands: a skeletonized hand for home time and a solid hand for local time. To keep the dial uncluttered when you’re not traveling, Patek devised a way to make the two hour hands line up to become a single hand. The dual-time system is already a feature on the men’s Aquanaut Ref. 5164, but on that watch, it uses two push-pieces on the left flank of the case to set the local time. On the Aquanaut Luce Travel Time, the movement was made more user-friendly by transferring the setting system to the winding crown. There is also a discreet day/night indicator at 6 o’clock. The case is 18-karat rose gold, and the bezel is set with 48 diamonds totaling 1.11 carat. here
