Vinegar as a cleaning solution works effectively on just about anything. It also happens to make a great homemade aluminum boat cleaner. The reason for this is because vinegar is acidic, and aluminum is a base metal.
1. Fill your aluminum pot with water. For every quart added add 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar and 1/2 cup of vinegar (or lemon juice). more
3. Carefully pour out the solution, and let the pot cool.
Use this homemade aluminum cleaner for your aluminum pots, to get them nice and clean.
2. Bring the solution to a boil, and then continue boiling for 10 minutes.
The first step after flushing the engine is a fresh water rinse, inside and out, of the boat and the trailer. If there’s a wash down station at the boat ramp, take advantage of it by rinsing your boat off right after it comes out of the saltwater. Another thing that vinegar won’t get rid off is barnacles. It may soften them and make them easier to remove however it won’t dissolve them and there are much better methods of dealing with barnacles. I’d recommend using a solid pressure washer to jet them off your boat. here
