Nearly every liquid dish detergent for your kitchen is an emulsifier. One such liquid detergent was used extensively by the veterinary clean-up crews that responded to Prince William Sound, Alaska, to clean up sea birds trapped in the floating sludge that followed the oil spill that occurred when the M/T Exxon Valdez grounded on Bligh Reef in 1989. Wet the area with the grease on it, then sprinkle about 1/4 cup of the detergent onto a wet rag. Then use your elbow grease to remove the grease from your boat. more

Laundry detergent, just like you wash your clothes with, also contains emulsifiers that "break the grease down." While not as strong as automatic dishwasher detergent, or even liquid dish detergent, laundry detergent is a contender among products to remove the grease from your boat.

If you make a repair to your boat's engine or gear box, there's a good chance you'll get grease on the exterior of your boat. If your boat has that nice, glossy gelcoat finish on its exterior, the grease will simply wipe off, because the gelcoat is almost impenetrable. If you've done spot repairs, or painted, the problem becomes a bit more complicated, but isn't insoluble. With a few simple items found around the house or your garage, neither is the grease. here

Since fiberglass is incredibly durable and makes sure to keep the RV lightweight, it also tends to protect your recreational vehicle when you are driving it on a bumpy road and uneven terrains. However, probably the biggest issue that you may confront is the formation of the RV fiberglass surface.

You should be able to get them out with a 50/50 solution of Boat Clean Plus and Boat Scrub and a bit of rubbing. Use a scrub brush on non-skid areas and a Marine Power Mitt on the smooth areas, or try a soft cloth but it will require more rubbing. This is the formula that many boat builders use to remove tough stains and yellowing from Carnauba Wax.

There are several products you can use to clean fiberglass, including acetone–a chemical that is also used to remove nail polish and other paints. Acetone removes not only dirt and grime from your fiberglass surfaces, but also any set-in stains like rust and pen marks. more
