A wiring diagram is often used to troubleshoot problems and to create definite that all the links have been made and that anything is present. here
A wiring diagram usually gives guidance more or less the relative outlook and arrangement of devices and terminals on the devices, to incite in building or servicing the device. This is unlike a schematic diagram, where the settlement of the components’ interconnections upon the diagram usually does not fall in with to the components’ creature locations in the done device. A pictorial diagram would accomplish more detail of the bodily appearance, whereas a wiring diagram uses a more symbolic notation to make more noticeable interconnections on top of creature appearance. here
I purchased a Yamaha Trim Harness to install an analog trim gauge on my boat. My problem is I cannot locate where the harness plugs in on the motor. Please help with pictures.
I was messin' with you. Trying to get you into the habit of stating the full model identity when you ask about your motor. [links]
God and the boat builder only know how your motor was wired to the gauges. Below is a diagram that depicts the Yamaha way of wiring it to analog gauges. Does the tachometer or boat have warning lights installed? They are integral to certain Yamaha tachometers. If so, then maybe the wiring from the motor to the dash (that is required for a trim gauge) is already installed. If not, you can add it.
I need some help finishing a install on some analog gauges. I have a 2016 Sylvan (smokers craft) 8520 cruise and fish pontoon. It is rigged with a Feb/2015 F70LA outboard. Only a Tach and Fuel gauge came with the boat. Both were analog. I have installed 7 gauges (Teleflex Sahara Series Tach, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Fuel, Voltmeter, Trim/Tilt and 35 mph Speedo). I have all the grounds, Ignitions and Illuminations wired up. I have not ran the boat, but the Fuel and Volts work and all the gauges light up. I ran the speedo tube to the back and hooked it up to the tube with a blocked off barb in the front of the engine. I also ran 3 wires to the back for trim, water temp and oil pressure signals to send through. more
There is a connector in the engine pan that is normally connected to another harness referred to as a trim/oil harness. The Yamaha specific harness runs to the helm for connection to a Yamaha specific tachometer and trim gauge. Wires in the harness are used for (1) the trim signal, (2) over temperature warning light and (3) low oil pressure warning light. [links]
The F70 does not use an oil pressure sender/sensor. You would have to add an aftermarket sender/sensor of your choice that is compatible with your gauge. here
My questions are:
What wires do I use in the engine harness for Trim, Water Temp and Oil Pressure gauges?
Do I need sending units for any of my gauges to work?
If I do need sending units please advise the Part #'s and were they would be installed on the engine. here
The engine connection will be made under the engine cowling on the Starboard Side of the engine as shown here: [links]
It should look like this when assembled: more
Connect to your Lowrance HDS at the NMEA 2000 Connector on the back: [links]
After tidying everything up you should be able to power the unit up and see this:
Lowrance Network Starter Kit P/N 000-0124-69 (about $70.00)
Lowrance NMEA 2000 To Yamaha Interface Cable P/N 000-0120-37(about $100.00) here
