Nice project boat with trailer. Needs a good sanding and clean up and some work. Comes with old 40 horsepower outboard that needs work. original manual included. When it came to selling one of my own boats a few months ago, I made sure everything non-essential that looked even marginally shabby was removed from the boat and the vessel was as clean as possible, with the topsides polished and the bottom freshly antifouled.
Specialist craft may stay on the market for longer than others, until finding a buyer who recognises the value of the equipment and the knowledge and time invested in setting the boat up.
Of course, how you define what "like yours" means can be difficult to nail down. While vehicle prices are fairly accurately reflected in "The Glass's" or "Parkers Guide", boat values are not nearly so cut and dried. A pair of boats that came out of the same mould on the same day might have very different values three years later, depending on upgrades and maintenance schedules. Prices also fluctuate with location, season, and how anxious the seller is to move the boat on. here
Then I set a price that was around 10-20 per cent below the asking price of similar craft, allowing for the defects I already knew about. There’s no point hiding these, as any decent surveyor will discover them. With some deft negotiation – it helped that there were several people wanting to view the boat – it sold for the asking price within 10 days of the first advert.
Make a correct call on your boat valuation and you will save time selling your boat.
Asking prices for boats that are apparently similar to yours are the most obvious guide for pricing your own vessel. But there’s a catch here – the well prepared boats that sell quickly aren’t advertised for long, whereas those that are over-priced may hang around for years. Therefore, a disproportionate number of the adverts you will see are for optimistically priced boats. more

WESTERBEKE 4-107 40 HP DIESEL Originally the ballast was lead and iron, but the owner removed the iron which can rust and added five tons of lead inside the white oak keel. This built in fashion of the Famous "Blue Nose" 130' schooner.. There have been other updates as well. An electric refrigerator was installed along with shore power. Pressure water and electric flush toilet have also been added. The sail inventory has been updated from canvas to dacron. The canvas sails are still in the inventory. The boat is prepped for bottom paint, and the topsides have been prepped as well. THIS IS A PROJECT FOR THE RIGHT PERSON - THAT WOULD BE SOMEONE WITH SOLID WORKING HANDS ON KNOWLEDGE OF RESTORING A WOODEN SAILBOAT THAT HAS NOT BEEN IN THE WATER FOR QUITE SOME TIME. For those of us old enough of remember, it seems like food prices (along with everything else) have skyrocketed. I can remember buying a Hershey bar for .05₡. Personal income was much less than now, but it seemed like it stretched much further. Economists say it’s just nostalgic memories, and the truth is that income stretches farther now, than it did, but they use tortuous statistical formulas that bear little relation to reality to prove their point. All I know is what I personally observe, and what I see tells me that $4000.00 per month does not go as far as $100.00 a month did in 1960.
