The included transducer supports Dual Beam Plus and CHIRP sonar. Unlike single frequency transducers, this one uses a range of frequencies. As the name implies, this Helix 5 fish finder features a 5-inch display in landscape orientation. The size provides you with a wide view of the sonar feedback and other displayed data. It’s also big enough to view two sets of data simultaneously in a split-screen mode. This means that you can keep track of both sonar and GPS data at the same time, without having to switch modes. here
The display size of this fish finder also makes it possible to use it on a variety of vessels. It will on both bigger and smaller boats. And it can also be installed on a kayak or canoe. here
Humminbird Helix 5 also does a great job of navigation. It includes a GPS receiver and Anima cartography, which covers U.S. coastline, lakes and rivers. These are fairly detailed maps that feature underwater terrain and other navigation marks. The unit also offers an SD card slot, so if you want more detailed maps, you can upgrade the system.
The fish finder also offers a good depth range. Its maximum depth scanning capability is 1,500 feet in freshwater. If you want even greater depth capability, you can also purchase the optional 50kHz transducer. It would increase the maximum depth capability to 2,500 feet. here

Very easy to use, great for a Kayak. I have been using this for about 5 years now.
