MICHIGAN CITY — The La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Sunday that the Progressive Insurance Chicago In-Water Boat Show will not take place in Michigan City this year.
The trade show showcases boating products and gives attendees the opportunity to network with other people in the boating industry. The event was set to take place from Aug. 10 through 13 at Michigan City Port Authority.
“I especially want to thank the Michigan City Port Authority and the City of Michigan City for their efforts,” he said

Flyboard demos will be held daily in the water. The new single-person Flyboard apparatus from Zapata Racing uses water jets to propel its rider both under water and into the air! Operators may control their movements just by tilting their feet and using the handheld nozzles for stabilization. The Flyboard is capable of lifting a rider 35 feet into the air with power provided from a standard personal watercraft. here

Twiggy Returns!
Twiggy will be back at the boat show and ready to delight audiences of all ages! For more than 30 years, trainer Lou Ann Best and the Florida gray squirrel have travelled around the globe to teach people about boating safety.
The Michigan City Port Authority will provide free dockage at Washington Park Marina for the remainder of the summer for any visitor who purchases a boat at the show!
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors age 60 and older. Children 12 and younger are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
