One thing that sets the purpose-built fishing boat apart from the others is it’s broad, flat bow platform. This dance floor, if you will, allows the angler to range from side to side, or fish straight off the bow. It’s sometimes big enough for two and really handy when the designated gaff or net man has to assist with the hauling in of a trophy fish.
There are a few different ways to install your trolling motor, the easiest being clamping the plastic or composite block of the shaft onto the railing, as close to the centerline of the bowrider as possible.
You’ll also need another through hull fitting and enough hose to connect the two. Locate your bait well pump just to the left or right of the brass hull drain plug — the one you sometimes forget to screw in.
As we move into the larger size range of bowriders, you will find that the overall design is similar, but the layouts and options are much more elaborate. As you might expect, the price of these larger bowriders can go up substantially.
One common characteristic of deck boats is a much wider front-end. This wide bow design tends to give a more open seating layout in the front of the boat. This is a big draw for people who want the extra room a pontoon provides, while still getting the looks and performance of a bowrider. here
Once we get into the higher size range of bowriders (25′-28′), you will begin to see some very innovative layouts. These layouts tend to have seats that switch positions to either accommodate more riders or create a great lounge area on the back of the boat.
