The Seiko H357 5040 quartz watch, modelnumber WHV005, has both an analog screen and a digital screen (ana-digi watch). The correct movie watch has "alarm chronograph" printed on the dial, a black 'bezel' around the dial with four screws. Note that the watch seen in the film has been slightly altered: the prop makers added a black plastic part on top of the watch, with Seiko logo and vertical 'audio' lines - this part was probably taken from a Seiko A159-5009 (find on eBay). The caseback of the watch features a round speaker through which we can hear Q talking when he messages Bond in the last scene. here

Seiko was once again mentioned as a partner in the closing credits, but this time as "Seiko Time (UK)" (as opposed to "Seiko Watches" in the previous two films).

The watch is worn by James Bond from the pre-title sequence on, but only the bracelet can be seen. It's not until he checks the map in his white Lotus Esprit Turbo that we see the watch case on his wrist for the first time. Bond wears the watch throughout all the following scenes until he searches for the ATAC in the Neptune submarine with Melina Havelock, when he wears a Seiko Golden Tuna diving watch. During the action on St Cyril's mountain he wears the Seiko H357 once again. more

The Seiko H357 5040 Duo Display digital wristwatch was worn by James Bond (Roger Moore) in the 1981 movie For Your Eyes Only. This is the third movie in a row in which James Bond wears a Seiko digital watch.

And it's not until the final scene that we see a close-up of the Seiko watch, when Bond and Melina are making out on her father's yacht, he receives a message which shows in red digits on the digital display, which reads "COME IN 007". Bond then takes off the watch, and puts it next to the parrot. The watch has the honor of being in the last shot of the fil, after the parrot drops it in the water it sinks to the bottom of the sea.

The case is 47mm, which sounds huge, but it really doesn't feel that big, partly because the lugs are placed differently on the new model compared to the original Tuna, so it wears smaller than the original. If you are familiar with the Seiko SKX007 or SKX009 (or new Seiko 5, which is the same design) diver's watch, it wears similar to that watch. It's also about the same height, if you wear the SKX on a NATO strap. [links]

Note the differences on the dial: the SBDN028 has gold hands, gold logos, gold minute markers and Submariner style hour markers. The bezel is also different, note the shape of the top triangle and the shape of the bezel edge.

Even though you might not have noticed the watch before, it is actually seen quite frequently during the long scene, because Bond wears it on the outside of his yellow diving suit. Unfortunately the watch doesn't get a good close-up shot in the movie. When Bond and Melina are captured by Aristotle Kristatos (Julian Glover) and his henchmen, the watch is probably discarded and never seen again.

The watch can be worn on a NATO strap (width: 22mm, for example a black NATO strap with gold hardware would look good, or a black Zulu strap with black hardware, or a grey/black 'Bond' NATO could work. I have black/gold and Bond Nato straps and will post pictures of it with the straps soon. Stay tuned on Instagram for updates and more pictures of my SNE498.

The Seiko Tuna is one of the classic and famous Seiko watches thanks to its unique design and because it was the first ever diver's watch with a Quartz movement and the first with a Titanium Case. The nickname Tuna is a reference to the shape of the watch compared to a tuna can. Originally released in 1975 (the 'Grandfather Tuna'), it has since been released in several different models, too many to name here, but you can read more in these articles on Fratello (1) and Fratello (2).

Below we'll look at two newer, cheaper options, that don't have the high tec specs of the 600m and 1000m Gold Tuna's, but are great looking watches from the same company, sometimes referred to as the Baby Tuna. here

A highly modified Rolex Submariner (ref: 5513) given to Bond by his superior M. When switched on, it could snag any lightweight metallic item. In theory, Bond claims it can even deflect a bullet. Notably, it fails to save Bond as he attempts to escape from the alligator farm by pulling a Dory boat with a rope attached that holds to the tree trunk in the swamp; a rare occurrence. It also has a circular saw built into its face; the bezel spins and is shown cutting through rope. [links]

The magnetic/buzzsaw wristwatch was a modified wristwatch equipped with a miniature electro-magnet and circular saw. Built around a Submariner wristwatch produced by Rolex, the device was developed by the British Secret Intelligence Service's (SIS/MI6) research and development division, Q-Branch. Such a device first appeared in EON Productions' 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die. A generic wristwatch variant with a magnet feature later appeared in the 1997 video-game GoldenEye 007.

Introduced as the "Q Watch v2.01 Beta", the wristwatch serves as GoldenEye 007's in-mission menu interface. The watch features a strong magnet similar to the Rolex Submariner from the 1973 film Live and Let Die. The magnet can pull weapons, ammo, keys, and other objects flagged as collectable to Bond. It appears prominently in the second 'Bunker' level, helping Bond attain a key vital to his escape. The magnet function reappears in the 'Archives' level, with the possible use of pulling both the PP7 and its ammunition off of a table. However, it is almost always overlooked in favor of simply picking up the PP7 and its ammo quickly.

The watch's laser functionality is only used in the 'Train' mission, where it is intended to be used to cut through a portion of the floor. It can actually be used like a normal weapon; it is very strong but has a short range. In addition, the watch features a strong magnet similar to the Rolex Submariner from the 1973 film Live and Let Die. The magnet can pull weapons, ammo, keys, and other objects flagged as collectable to Bond. It appears prominently in the second 'Bunker' level, helping Bond attain a key vital to his escape. [1] The outlook of watch is loosely based on the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M - the wristwatch Bond uses in the film version of GoldenEye. more

The wristwatch seen in the Nintendo 64 counterpart of The World Is Not Enough when the gadget functions are deactivated. more

After its absence in Agent Under Fire, the laser wristwatch returns in Nightfire, operating similarly as in The World Is Not Enough on Nintendo 64. In the early demo versions of the PC game, the wristwatch was directly based on the Omega Seamaster Professional Diver 300M with a makeover similar to that of the one seen in the film version of The World Is Not Enough when Bond activates an inner-case glowing light likely powered by a battery, a function which the real life model of the wristwatch does not have. Despite the texture of the dial containing the word "chronograph" engraved on it, the wristwatch functions with a Quartz movement. Additionally, the helium valve is missing. [links]
