Thanks, how did you lok that up that quick? So if it looks the same it should fit?

www.shop.evinrude.com lists this part as "dealer direct." Aong other things, that means that places like sea-way marine will not have it. If they don't have it, you can bet the part is going to be hard to track down. [links]

If there is any possibility of welding the part and reusing it, you may need to consider that option. You will have to seek out a very skilled welding shop, however, so that the part is not warped durign repair. [links]

That's the same part number used for all of those models. And that same part number is not available new. You'll have to find a used one; the year/model list will be handy for that. Somebody may post that knows of a substitute part that will fit and is still available, but I think that you may be stuck trying to find a used one. here

Yes, that will be the correct fuel pump needed for your application. The kit would be 0393088

As I understand it the mimic full load on the motor, like if you were on the water actually running, but that may be incorrect. here

Anyone have a list of OMC test wheel part numbers by model? Thinking of picking one up for my QD’s but apparently there are different ones depending on the year.
Want to use them to dial in the motors in my test tank. Am I waisting my money, or do they really help in a tank situation?
Thanks,
Bob D

Yes, I have an older one around here too somewhere. It has the cast numbers & dimintions on it for various horsepower motors by models. Yes, Richard they simulate running conditions, but nothing is the same as a lake test! You need a good test tank for it to work well at all.

The QDs changed to the small 4-bolt gearcase in 1958 so that’s where the difference is for the QDs. 1949-1957 will use one and 1958-1963 will use the other one. I use the 15-18hp test wheel (5-bolt gearcase) for my 1949-1957 QDs. It isn’t perfect but is fine for my purposes. I have the right test wheel for the 1958-1963 QDs. I currently use a 55-gallon plastic drum. This works fine for the 5.5-7.5hp motors, but 10 and over will still ventilate some at WOT. It does let me get them quite close in the tank before dialing in on the lake. I dont have the part numbers handy, but I’m sure Dan will have them.

Also, any recommendations you can make of what I should do before trying it on the water would be much appreciated. It has been sitting unused for approximately 8-10 years. more

The model number is the one to use to get year, etc. There are some dating guides in the FAQ - http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=224805. Yes, it is a 1971. [links]

Hi there! New here, I just inherited a powerboat and I would like to get it up and running, only I don't know the first thing about boat motors. I have a Johnson motor, 100 hp, and the serial #G6006. Model# is 100ESL71C. Does that mean it is from 1971? Also, does anyone know if this is a 2 stroke or 4 stroke engine? more
