Sounds like you swapped the yellow and brown on the left side somewhere.
I appreciate everyone responses. [links]
Sounds like a short between the running and turn signal on that side. Might not even be in the wiring but in the light itself. here
Re: LED Trailer Lights Not Working more
If you have a battery charger, disconnect the trailer harness from the truck. Connect the battery charger ground clip to the ground terminal or the trailer frame (good ground). Put a nail in the POSITIVE charger clip and touch the BROWN wire terminal. The running lights and side markers should light. If not, you have a light or wiring issue. Then touch the nail to the green and yellow wire terminals. The respective turn/brake light should light. Turn/brake lights are brighter than the running lights. If the trailer checks out then the truck is at fault. Test the same way on the truck but use a test light or voltmeter. more
I just rewired my trailer and I have a problem. I'm using new LED lights everywhere. I am standing in the back of my trailer looking towards my truck in my description below:
Towing a trailer with incorrectly operating lamps and pulsing indicators is dangerous to other road users and is illegal.
When the vehicle detects a trailer is connected, many safety functions are altered which can include ride height, reversing sensor deactivation, anti-lock braking characteristics, stability control and traction control. more
Many modern vehicles have onboard diagnostics which transmit low voltage signals to detect blown trailer globes and also detects when a trailer is attached.
Without systems operating correctly the vehicle can be dangerous to drive when towing.
Re: LED lights not working properly. Pulse Width Modulation?
1) Does your vehicle have a trailer package?
2) If it doesn't, how did you get your regular lights to work without a trailering adapter already since your vehicle likely has separate brake and turn wires?
Is this a Brand New Ford. if not, what vintage.
There are some easy tips to make sure your lights work right every time. more
If replacing tail lights on your trailer we recommend LED-style lights for replacements. They are brighter and last much longer. They are also submersible. Follow color codes on the wires to ensure the lights are set up correctly. If the wires run through a hole in the trailer it’s easy to thread them through a small piece of plastic tube in the hole to keep them from fraying and causing a short due to water pressure or road vibration. here
Make sure the hitch ball is clean from rust. This is very important, so lubricate it every now and again with a light grease or oil; simply put a small amount on a rag and coat the ball. here
