In terms of brands, it is essential to be familiar with the front runners like 3M, Star Brite, and Sharkhide so that you can take home a high-performing marine cleaner. [links]

This Sharkhide aluminum cleaner is a strong concentrate in a 32-ounce bottle that you can directly spray for the best results. It is a USA-made certified product with a relatively high NFPA health rating in addition to low flammability and reactivity levels. I think it can safely work for bunks, carpets, paints, rubber, vinyl decals, wiring, and any other aluminum boat exteriors.

I like that I can spray it easily without the need to prepare mixture ratios for my stained boat. The solution cleans and polishes my pontoon, aluminum boat, and their metal surfaces to protect luster without requiring any scrubbing. All that I had to do was allow a few minutes for the solution to penetrate the surface and break the stain or oxidation. I finished my cleaning task with no brushing, just simply rinsing it with clean water! here

Most people use this product as preparation for hull polishing. You should be aware that this cleaner, like any other else, will damage the bottom paint, so it is advisable not to try to clean it. here

Before you apply the solution, wet the aluminum to make sure that the restorer will be evenly dispersed. After the application, rinse the product completely to prevent any residue. [links]

Q. I have been restoring a 14' Klamath boat and I am happy with my paint job on the inside however it is the exterior of the hull that I want to clean up. I would like to restore it to it's original brite non painted aluminum look. here

A. I have been finishing aluminum for the past 25 years. I have done a number of pontoon boats over the years. I do have a number of videos posted on YouTube for polishing aluminum to make this process easier.
When working with new aluminum mill stock, it would be a benefit to remove the mill finish with sanding. Depending on the stock mill finish you are starting with, I would recommend a starting point around 400 grit 600 grit and finishing with 800 grit.
Then begin your polishing process with Rouge lube and a Tripoli cut color bar and a yellow airway buff. After all sanding marks are removed, finish with color with a medium yellow airway buff. Then follow up with a white airway and a color bar. [links]

There are little dark spots I would like to remove in addition to to making it brite and new looking. I have tried using a blue pad with an air tool, good old fashion sandpaper as well as a foam polishing cone with metal polishing compound that you use with a cordless drill, all disappointing in one way or another. Can anyone help me with my "de-lemon"? Thank you in advance. here

However, one minor issue I see in this sealer is the amount of time it takes to thicken when mixing the two parts. You will need a little bit of patience during this part of the application process.

If you are looking for a permanent seal on any leak issues of the aluminum boat, then this product is the real deal. I have personally used it and was impressed with the result. This product will seal everything with the strongest possible sealing effect. [links]

The feature that stands out during the application was its ease of application. I did try to use a brush in applying to the surface but was told by a friend that there were other ways to apply this sealer to a particular surface. You can also use a roller, pour it on an area, or dip something to seal in cracks or holes to protect your boat from leaks fast. more

The best way to seal an aluminum boat is to use a product that uses aluminum particles in its formulation. This is what I thought when we use this repair kit to an aluminum boat for testing its effectiveness. I did try to check on the components on the formulation of this product and the aluminum particles stand out aside from the special additives and curing agents.
