Look at the prop and the grating above the antiventilation plate for water discharge. if you see it the motor is pumping.
My mariner 225 is a V6 (3.0L) and it pees on the hose or the muffs and starts peeing within a few seconds of startup.
Anyway, just my opinion, I could be wrong. /rant here
I agree with Bassman, if it won't pee until the t-stats open, why bother.
The whole idea is a visual indication of cooling water being circulated.
Today I didn't get any but I never ran it very long just in case you're supposed to.
Here is my f200 on muffs peeing a little. Not sure on proper name either. Your 150 is essentially the same motor so you should expect to see some as well more
so what say you. do you get water coming from the telltale when using muffs and if yes, how long does it take after starting the engine.
