The British Virgin Islands locally known as NATURES LITTLE SECRETS, are easily the best sailing destination in the Caribbean, and arguably one of the best in the world. Warm weather year round, consistent trade winds and line of sight sailing make the BVI a sailors paradise. Our beautiful country is made up of over 60 islands and cays, mostly unspoiled, with fabulous white sand beaches, plentiful marine life, crystal clear waters and a relaxed island vibe. There are the spectacular boulders of Virgin Gorda and the picturesque village and beaches of Jost van Dyke along with the diversity and seclusion of the other 40 sister islands, islets and cays. At the moment, we are short on motor yacht inventory but we hope and expect that will change in the very near future. Come charter a power catamaran and explore the magnificent British Virgin Islands! Sailing is always fun . but there's a lot to be said for getting from point A to point B within a short period of time. A powerboat allows you the flexibility to visit several anchorages and ports of call in one day, making the most of your (always too short) Caribbean bareboat vacation.
Captain only charters and power boat handling lessons are available for those wishing to learn the basics such as the rules of the road, where and how to anchor safely, how to pick up a mooring ball, simple navigation and how to read a nautical chart. Sorry, but certification courses are not available.
Please keep in mind that the minimum charter period is 5 nights year 'round and 7 nights over Christmas and New Years.

In former times Salt Island supplied the salt for the British Navy's Caribbean fleet from it's salt ponds. Although belonging to the crown the island and it's salt ponds were operated by the local populace. Even today it's occupants harvest the salt, you will find it for sale both on the island and in local stores. Each year they pay their token tithe to the queen - one sack of salt.
A great tragedy occurred in 1867 on the rocks of Salt Island, when the Royal Mail Ship Rhone sank in a storm, taking 125 persons with her. Its remains are extensive and have become a fascinating underwater habitat for marine life. It is part of the national park system and is rated the most popular wreck dive in the Caribbean by numerous dive publications.
Aside from being everyone's idea of the perfect tropical island, Sandy Spit has good snorkeling and is a fair anchorage and is every photographers' fantasy. here
Sandy Cay is one of the smallest islands to the west of Tortola. With it's natural botanical gardens, sweeping panoramic views and long white beaches, is a tiny pearl in the ocean. Laurence Rockefeller donated the island to the British Government as a national park, with the proviso that it stay in it's native state. [links]
Deadman's Bay looks out on a small island, Dead Chest. Teach, the pirate also called Blackbeard, evidently marooned some of his men on Dead Chest to teach them discipline or survival. They were given only a single cutlass and a bottle of rum. Legend has it that this is the origin of the song "Yo Ho Ho and a Bottle of Rum." Legend also has it that the fifteen men killed each other. Drop anchor and either bask in the warm waters, playing on the yachts toys or take the tender ashore to explore the wooden shacks selling local wares, walk the length of the horseshoe cove or just lie is the transparent waters as they lap against the pure white sand beach.
