If it has a harmonic balancer on the front of the crank, It's a 3.0L/140HP
If it just has a pulley, it's a 2.5L/120HP

Your going to need the model number. Then you can look at this link and see what you have. Click on OMC Stern Drives 1964-1993. The model #'s are listed on pages 66 thru 71. more
If you have the model # and you know it's a 3.0 Liter there is nothing else in this link to find.

OMC assigned each engine family a unique two-letter alpha designator:
A third letter (E) is used to designate the "extended" (high profile )15-inch lower unit leg, which was 4.5 inches longer than the "short" (low profile) leg version.
All OMC/Evinrude/Johnson boats utilized the "extended" drives. more
From 1969 to the 1972 additional letters indicate the mounting system and steering system, following the two-letter engine type designator.
The third letter position is either "F" = Floor Mount, or "T" = Transom Mount. The fourth letter position indicates the type of steering system with "M" = Mechanical, "R" = Rope/cable/pulley, and "P" = Push-Pull (TruCourse closed-cable).
