Just spray your paint, wait a moment, spray your polish and wipe it off!

Well, maybe not quite, but it’s a pretty neat little discovery anyway. 🙂 [links]

I’m pretty sure I’ll be spray painting even more from now on now that I’ve cut out all that annoying waiting time!

Can you use a lighter color oil gel stain over a previously stained tongue and groove paneling without stripping it first? [links]

I like it, it looks authentic like an old piece.

I used 99cent store white glue for my jewelry box revamp. I am getting back to crafting and art after 26 years of stagnation. and I was astounded by the smooth beauty of it! I am now doing a shelf that runs the whole length of my bedroom (built into the wall. don't ask! lol). I'm creating an escape bedroom being a Harry Potter fanatic! I'm mixing the Gryffindor Common Room with their bedroom dorm area. Any how, it's a fun thing to do this crackle! You have to pay attention to the direction you want your crackle to go and I simply painted the glue on (a bit watered down to spread easier, and then I literally painted in one stroke over it. Going over it a bit will change it and make much finer crackles. over all. it amazed me at how well it went. I also used a blow dryer to crack it where I wanted it to have more or larger cracks. The finish is very smooth to the touch. And it is a mix of a really good latex (Lowe's bargain paints already oops mixed) and Apple Craft Paints. The majority of the Cream color is the latex base and then I mixed a brown shade as well as a grey into my 'pick up paint' before laying it down. I first painted over the dark old wood finish with a dark gray craft paint mixed with plaster of paris to give it a bit of grit for my glue and top paint to adhere. It was all simply a 'guess your best' project. But my end result was absolutely beautiful and couldn't be any more of what I was hoping to achieve (miracle!) Easy and cheap! The best kind! The Mexican Sarape Table underneath was actually my FIRST attempt back to doing some kind of art a few months ago. the catalyst to feeling creative again!

I want to paint my fabric headboard. All I have is leftover latex paint. Will that work? If so, do I need to seal it with wax or poly?

I used Sprayon Frosted Glass Spray on my decorated wine bottle - the spray scratches off. I also firstly cleaned my bottle with rubbing alcohol, however it does not . See more here

For your present problem, I would suggest that you go ahead and sacrifice a few sanding discs, grind it smooth with a coarse (60-80 grit) disc and recoat with a properly proportioned mix. It might add a little extra weight but with two fillcoats you can skip the gloss coat. Just wet/dry the second fillcoat to 1200 and buff if you want it shiny. Wet/dry to 600 or so if you want a sanded finish.

I thought I'd have to route out the boxes and start all over. Turns out it was just the fact that I used my slow hardener in colder than normal shop conditions.

I have been glassing a board with Resin Research Kwik Kick epoxy. I have done the finboxes, deck and bottom lams, and they have all turned out fine. I have been using a 2:1 ratio using pumps on the containers and doing 2:1 pumps. My problem is that I must have screwed up the ratios on the deck hotcoat somehow. It took way too long to kick, and then was very tacky for a while, and now (this is a few days later) the resin is still slightly tacky. Not so much where I can't handle it or flip it, but soft, so a fingernail leaves a mark in it.

Unfortunately, from sticky resin to runny resin is another problem entirely. When the resin is not quite hard and not quite liquid, you might be sitting with a gooey mess. How to fix uncured epoxy resin? In this case, you will need to do more than add another coat of resin, you will have to scrape off the old gooey resin and then apply a new layer to your project surface. more

When you find that the resin mix is sticky in a few spots after curing, you can simply add another layer of resin on top to solve the problem. However, you will have to take other measures if the resin is runny or has tacky or smooth spots.

If you are looking for one of the toughest, long-lasting and convenient paint finishes, then be sure to consider epoxy spray paint.
