The Pelican Sentinel 100X is aimed mostly at beginners, both adults and kids. It is a stable craft made from durable materials so that it can withstand the knocks and bumps that come with learning to kayak. more
This lightweight boat comes in a range of models, including an angler version and slightly shorter EXO version. The 100X can be a good vessel for exploring flatwater in warm weather, for example, lakes and slow moving rivers.

The 100X is a sit-on-top kayak that can be better suited to warm weather conditions, as you are likely to get splashed from paddle drips or riffles. However, there are scupper holes so that water can drain out of your deck without filling up in your boat. [links]
Considering its size and price, it wouldn't have been surprising if Pelican skimped on some of the angling features for this kayak, but this doesn't appear to be the case. They have included an ERGOFORM padded backrest with a seat cushion to provide anglers with some comfort during the long hours of fishing. The kayak also features molded footrests to make things even more comfortable. In terms of storage, you'll find a fairly roomy tank well in the rear, which also has bungees to help you to stow away your gear safely. Unlike many other fishing kayaks, the Sentinel 100X Angler does not have any additional storage hatches, so this is definitely a kayak for people who like to keep things simple. more
What it does have is two flush mount rod holders just behind the seat as well as a swivel rod holder up front. Pelican has also incorporated a handy dual position bottle holder in the design. The kayak is light enough to manage on your own for loading and transportation, but it has bow and stern carrying handles, along with molded center carrying handles to make this task a little easier. Fishing kayaks seem to be getting bigger and bigger these days, but a smaller, more compact kayak will always remain useful. The Sentinel 100X Angler from Pelican is a great example, as it is a 10 foot kayak that has a lot to offer for its small size. It is built on a twin-arched multi chine hull, with a width of 30 inches and it weighs only 45 lbs. While it is very compact, this sit-on-top fishing kayak can still handle loads of up to 300 lbs and it is also surprisingly stable. In addition, it is able to track very well, which is not always a guarantee with some of the smaller kayaks. [links]
Overall, the Sentinel 100X Angler is a very decent kayak for its price, especially if you don't need a ton of storage and want something that is lightweight. Since it is made from RAM-X impact-resistant material, it is quite a sturdy kayak too, and the hull design also provides plenty of stability. more
