Half a day is enough time in Portofino!!
In addition, there is a ferry which goes to Portofino from the CT which includes a sidetrip to San Fruttoso Abbey(as Vagabonda suggested). The ferry does not go everyday, but on certain days of the week. I think the cost was around 20euros. [links]
