Restoring this BASS BOAT- (more than 4 hrs. LOL) its been a long five yrs. Don't get me wrong, its been on the water for cpl months at a time. but the "Restoration has never been complete or completely right anyway. First- older boat an wiring on boat harness has been spliced upon spliced numerous times over..also motor harness from 94 Venom to the 99 FICHT. round plug vs newer rectangular plug(S), so it required a new ignition and i thought well i just get the all in one and new controls. bought a lets say overseas knockoff - it worked for a while,.but then the ignition switch ended up failing internally. causing the motor to loose connection but still ran..Oh, after of course getting new motor harness. I also upgraded the tach to a plug in, that covered my systems check alarms. all of these things came about One at a time and id be on the water fishing. and something would fail- and no its not becasue its a 99 FICHT. I happen to be extremely lucky and got a good one and scored at the price as well. $2k and that's in CA. So now I am at the finish line or at least the last 100 m..I made the decison to go ahead and make the investment and upgrades. so I replaced the old cable steering trolling motor that had already been repaired once and the cable broke a second time. So I decide to go all out and i got the GARMIN FORCE. trolling motor along with 2- 9' displays of the echoMAP UHD 93sv Chartplotter/Fishfinder Combo with GT54 Transducer and LakeVü G3 Charts, and the additional Panoptix LiveScope. To 93's the panoptics, and the Garmin Force cost me more that i am into the boat and motor for!! (forgot to mention I got a screaming deal on this boat as well_$2k).. So Boat /Motor $4k,.Controls, gauges, carpet, windshield, and Bass Seats.com 5pcs set. probably another $1,500. So $5,500 and the Garmins+ FORCE- $ $7,000-ea 93sv was $999, panoptics $1,500, and Force was $3,500. So All together and spread out over 5yrs $12,500. Last but not least, I decided to update her appearance with a vinyl wrap and it was $1,350 for custom design vinyl and to have them provide the vinyl and install it would have been $3500 total, So I am saving the $2,150 and installing myself. Slow going, frustrating to say the least, but still worth the savings in my to the overall cost of this multi yr project.. My most recent purchase with Crowley was the new OEM Side mount hidden Controls for the Throttle and a separate ignition switch with the newer connectors. I avoided going through them the first time trying to save some money. it cost me much more in headaches and down time, even breaking down on the water because I tried to cut corners. You can count on Crowley to have what you need and they carry quality products as well. The controls I received this time are QUALITY - Good looking and built to last just from the pure density / heaviness to them. You get what you pay for, saying couldn't be more true in this situation. I wonder if it will ever be COMPLETLEY done and up to my satisfaction. I may sell the seat set at a 65% of what i paid just to match seats with the vinyl, B.O.A.T. Break Out Another Thou$and - I am not doing this to flip it, I figured I will get another 5 yrs out of her, and probably end up selling her for $18-23k Maybe. Good Luck to all & Keep a tight Line!
