Mix the 8 oz. bottle of dry gas and the 3 gallons of fresh gas with the watered-down gas in the gas can. Shake the can gently to ensure the fuel is mixed well. Pour the fuel from the gas can back into the vehicle's gas tank.

Water in a vehicle's gas tank can create major problems for a car. Water contaminates the fuel and prevents it from burning as powerfully as pure gasoline, which causes a vehicle's engine to use more fuel and operate inefficiently. Water can also corrode other parts of a car's engine, particularly the pistons and combustion chamber. Consequently, it is important to remove contaminated gas from a car's tank as quickly as possible.

Slide the copper tube into the gas tank. Push the tube all the way through the fuel line until you feel it touch the bottom of the gas tank. here

Place the end of the rubber tube into one of the empty gas tanks and squeeze the fuel primer ball. This will suck the gas and water out of the gas tank and into the can. Continue this process until the gas tank is empty.

Attach the other end of the rubber tube to one end of the fuel primer ball by sliding the end of the tube into the valve on the ball. Slide one end of the second piece of rubber tube into the second valve on the other side of the fuel primer ball. Seal all attachment areas with electrical tape. This apparatus will serve as the fuel siphoning device. [links]

There are a couple of good reasons for removing a Ford Model A gas tank. First, of course, is to replace the original 16-gauge metal one if it is badly rusted and beyond repair. Secondly, gas tank removal might be necessary to clean the tank and apply a sealer coat to its interior. Use small plastic bags for the various screws and bolts you remove, and tag each bag with the items' location. Keep a photo record as your remove each item.

Disconnect the harness wires that run from the instrument panel and under the gas tank. This entails disconnecting the wire running to the ignition switch, the instrument panel light and the ammeter. Next, take out the seven screws holding the dash rail in place, and carefully lift out the dash.

Remove the windshield by first taking out the eight screws that run along the header under the top hinge. Remove the pair of screws on each side that hold the windshield's post brackets in place. Label the brackets, and set them aside.

An electric pump will do the job well regardless of the quantity you want to get it out. A small 12-volt pump is sufficient for pumping the fuel out completely, like this 12-volt gas transfer pump from the gas tapper (linked to Amazon), which takes out huge quantities quickly. [links]

Above one to two years old ethanol-free gas, it really depends on the climate and whether stabilizer is added or not. If the stabilizer is added, you can use the gas but add some fresh gas in the tank (50% fresh gas or more), and then start the boat. But still, it a bit risky in humid climates. here

That being said, the E10 gas will keep absorbing water over time no matter what you add to it, and eventually, you will have phase separation, which will destroy your engine. If you don’t have E10 and add a stabilizer, you could probably go a pretty long time than E10 gas. [links]

This is known as phase separation (gasoline at the top, water at the bottom inside the fuel tank). Water, of course, does not work too well as a fuel in an internal combustion engine. It will cause hard starting and rough running until it’s removed from the whole engine system.

Thus, if you have bad gas in your boat, your boat will sputter or stalls while running so, if you start to notice that, it will most likely deal with the bad fuel unless you have a fuel filter or fuel pump or other problems that restrict the fuel flow inside the engine. more

2) run a manual bulb primer line vs. a mouthful of gas from the fuel/water sep. at the stern and that empty into a fuel can? [links]

this may be a silly question, but what is the best way to remove the old fuel from an internal fuel tank.

clearly, the boat needs to be pulled out of the water to get below the tank for siphoning.. more
