This 1995 Sea Ray 370 Sundancer presents an excellent opportunity for a hands on buyer to enter a large diesel cruiser for a very low entry price. The boat has had only two owners since new and the present owner has owned the boat for almost 20 years. Both Caterpillar engines start and run and have only 1000 hours of run time. Both V-drive transmissions shift fwd and reverse and the boat can be run under its own power, please see the brief video below from the recent test run. The generator has been replaced with a fairly new Nextgen diesel generator which has only a few hours of running time. Unlike many Sea Rays this vintage, the fwd deck of this Sundancer is rock solid with no soft spots noted during our inspection. The headliner inside shows very well with no signs of overhead leakage. The cabin has two air conditioning units and the fwd unit has been recently replaced with a Webasto FCF reverse cycle unit. The boat has had very little use within the last years and is in need of restoration. Most of the work needed seem to be mostly cosmetic in addition to general maintenance and service work for the engines, transmissions and general systems on board. This boat offers a lot of potential for the right buyer but is not in ready to be used and cruised condition.Positives:

The standard arch not only provides for a mounting point for the radar antenna array, but also for the optional Bimini top. With that, the flying bridge has shade when needed and sun when wanted.

Our test boat was equipped with the optional SeaKeeper gyro stabilizer. Since we were not going into rough water we didn't turn on the gyro which takes 20 minutes to spool up. However, we have tested the SeaKeeper gyro before and know that it works. [links]

The lower control station is situated to starboard of the galley and shares the space with several low profile cabinets that conceal dedicated storage for the galley’s china, glasses and flatware. From this raised position, the pilot has 66” (1.67 m) of headroom clearance and a clear sight line over the bow.
While this is not full-standing head room for most people, it is typical of Euro-styled boats and it’s a compromise that comes with the whole package. In order to have a low, sleek profile, every vertical inch above the waterline is crucial. more

Like all pod drive boats, the 510 Fly's turning radius is governed by software that has been pre-programmed to keep the boat and its guests on the flying bridge safe during turning maneuvers. That means the faster the boat is going, the wider is the turning radius.
Nevertheless, when running the boat in the mid-teen mph range we were able to turn and stay in the channel of the ICW. At idle she would turn in about 1-1/2 boat lengths, slowly getting wider as we went faster.

With the seatback down, a large sun pad for two is created. The venturi windscreen forward will keep bodies comfortable underway.

Make sure the thru-hull, sea strainer, and valves are working perfectly. Remove accumulated growth and move the valves frequently, especially if the boat will be left in the water for extended periods. here
