Look, I'm not trying to start anything here. But I thought this site was about high performance boats, not whether or not you like to fish. Like it or not, there are plenty of high performance fishing boats on the water, and I'd bet that those owners make up a large chunk of the membership here. Not to mention the thousands of us that visit here weekly,or even daily. [links]
On my old "Fakemate" (Checkmate copy), after swapping motors to a somewhat "Hot" 2.4 - 200. would read 76 MPH on the "wish-o-meter". no GPS back then, but I brought along an old Highway Patrol type Radar Gun, and when I aimed it out the front of the boat at WFO, it read 63 MPH.
People are so FULL OF IT. Scary they are on the water. I READ ON A BASS BOAT WEBSITE THAT A 19 FOOT GAMBLER WITH A 200 WENT 84MPH. iT MAY BE POSSIBLE, BUT AFTER SEEING THE BOAT AND PROP AND SET UP, I KNEW IT WASN'T POSSIBLE UNLESS IT HAD NITROUS. here
I always offer my hand held GPS and that usually shuts them up or them come back to shore very depressed. here
Whats bad is I have a paddle wheel for my depth finder, and with the boat trimmed down, its faster according to that speedo, and when you trim it up on the pad, it actually slows down. Imagine some knucklehead thinking he is getting 64 or so out of the boat trimmed down, and that it slows down when trimmed up. HAHA.
