The weekend festivities began on Friday, July 27 with a raft-up on the Shaw Bay off of the Wye River. All participants were encouraged to dress up and decorate their boats in accordance to a movie of their choice. The group aboard “Yebo,” a Fountaine Pajot Hélia 44, made a grand entrance with their Pirates of the Caribbean themed vessel, complete with treasures for all and a crew dressed in pirate garb. Another show-stopping group was aboard “Lucky Cat,” a Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40, that brought The Karate Kid to the bay with traditional Japanese music, sushi and saki, paper lanterns, and costumes. A passing rainstorm failed to put a damper on the party. Once the storm cleared, it gave way to a breathtaking sunset!
