The Bail-R-Matic is a simple but brilliant product. It works similar to a "check valve" to drain your boat when your driving it, trailering, or docking on boat lift. This is done automatically. When you are launching your boat or sitting still the plug closes off so you dont have to worry about water getting in. more

The Bail R Matic is able to not only drain the inside of your boat from the unwanted water, but it can also help to seal the drain tight while you're out on the water riding around, fishing, swimming, tubing etc. It is compatible with close to 95% of all types of fishing boats and DNR approved in many states.

So when does the Bail R Matic drain the boat? Does it have a sensor? How exactly does it work?

It is approved by the D.N.R. in most states

The Bass Boat Solutions Flow-Rite Remote Drain Plug also features re-designed elements. The drain plug housing now utilizes a mesh design that prevents any debris from causing problems, while glass-filled nylon makes the drain plug actuator tee handle super strong for trouble-free operation. The drain plug and housing have also been improved to provide smooth and watertight operation.

Comments:While a bit pricey, it is one of the things I did to make the ramp set-up time quicker. Another big plus is no longer having to crawl on the ground to get to the plug. I chose the 6ft option and mounted the control on the rear deck. Install was pretty easy, and I planned it for when I was pulling the oil tank and battery plate to work on livewells. If I was doing it again, I would make the same choice. It's worth it.

I was cleaning the cockpit locker where the head drain seacock is located and brushed my hand by the seacock (a Perko 595E). When I did one of the two drain plugs fell out into the bilge. It turns out the threads on the plug are completely stripped, and the previous owner had simply jammed it into the hole. My F25 has a holding tank, so I have never actually had the seacock open, but I am having visions of someone opening it, the plug vibrating out with the help of water pressure, and finding my boat sitting at the bottom of the marina.

Since this seacock has two drains I figure I should be able to close off the stripped one, and just use the other. Welding it shut should do the trick, but it is in a hard to reach location for a welder. How about a shot of trusty silicone in the hole? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind of makes you wander how many other nasty surprises are located in an old boat doesn't it? I was cleaning out the bilge sump and noticed that two of the four keel bolt nuts could be turned with my fingers.
