Due to Hurricane Irma, our cruise was interrupted and we had to stay out longer than we expected until the damage could be assessed in Florida. With that said, NCL went above and beyond sheltering passengers on the ship from both the NCL Escape and NCL Sky until all was safe and the Captain and crew worked extremely hard making passengers feel comfortable. This is more that could be said for Carnival who dropped all their passengers off before the storm hit.

Honduras is okay to visit. I would suggest doing an excursion. The ship's excursions were ok but the cheaper deals can be had right outside the terminal and across the street with Island Marketing. People stand on the curb with signs advertising things to do. I had booked through Facebook "Daniel Johnson's Monkey Sanctuary" Just $20 to visit the animals and $20 more to do the animals and snorkeling. Read more more

Honduras is located near the equator, but isn't quite as hot as some other destinations in this area. Keep in mind that summer in Honduras is actually winter in the U.S. (and vice versa). Daily rain isn't uncommon in Roatan. Spanish is the official language, but English is also widely spoken. Currency is the lempira, but U.S. dollars are accepted in many places.

Best Beach for an Active Day: West End offers beaches, coral reefs for snorkeling, eateries and water sports like sea kayaking, diving and sailing. At the entrance to West End is palm-lined Half Moon Bay beach. Be prepared for large crowds on days when ships are in port. [links]

This is our 2nd Cruise. Our first was also with Carnival(Destiny). Legend was 200% better!! When we arrived at the Port of Tampa, it took 10 minutes to get on the ship, and 5 more to get to our cabin. Sweeet! We had an extended balcony.. We assumed 'Extended Balcony' meant extended LENGTH. We found out, it meant extended width! No problem, our room was great! Our room steward was Waylan. He was the sweetest guy. Our room was always clean, seemingly minutes after we left it! He would find us (My husband and I) wandering the halls, trying to find our cabin; he'd laugh with us and deliver us to our door! And, we were sober! The ship is huge! The only day we were able to get a spot in Serenity was the first day. It's always crowded, but that was ok too. The comedians were ok.. There were 4 total. I wish I could remember the 3rd comedian.. shame, he was so bad, most of his audience walked out. Elegant night(s) were very nice. The Cruise Director, Weeeeeeeeeeee Jimmy, was outstanding! He's Irish (apologies if I'm incorrect) and hilarious! He kept smiles on everyone's faces. He was a joy! We visited the Steak House, The Golden Fleece on our 21st Anniversary evening. We were not impressed. We ordered our steaks, medium well; they were well done. No need to complain now, because we didn't let our waiters know we we not pleased, which we should've. We had smokers on both sides of us. Would've loved to enjoy our balcony more. Also..the casino should have more non smoking areas. The only non-smoking area in the casino seemed to be by the penny machines.

Based on an opening day Disneyland ride heavily inspired by John Huston’s The African Queen, the long-delayed Jungle Cruise is unnecessary, unoriginal and practically unwatchable. It’s a moldy Indiana Jones knockoff clumsily sutured onto a rotting Pirates of the Caribbean knockoff, with romantic leads seemingly paired by focus groups, despite their complete lack of spark. Every time these Disney live-action remakes of animated classics and beloved theme park rides seem to touch the bottom of forced-smile fun and rubbery CGI, the abyss only yawns deeper.

Speaking of deep yawns, the brutally edited Jungle Cruise is clearly a 160-minute movie hacked into a 128-minute movie to feel like a 3,000-minute movie. Dwayne Johnson plays Frank Wolff, a “Dad joke”-spewing riverboat captain ferrying tourists through a generic jungle. Into this greenscreen paradise crashes Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt, getting paid for her time), a starry-eyed explorer searching for magic flowers. Frank and Lily cross paths with zombie conquistadors, dolphin hypnotists and German submarines on their journey into the heart of the jungle. Naturally, the shared adventure drives the protagonists into each other’s arms, even though Blunt and Johnson make the least credible screen couple since Justin Guarini and Kelly Clarkson. more

It’s hard to explain how a performer with as much charisma and appeal as Johnson could consistently make such lifeless movies. From San Andreas and Skyscraper to Rampage and Baywatch, Johnson’s vehicles seem to promise low-down fun yet come out plodding and joyless. In many ways, Jungle Cruise is quintessential Johnson since the film only requires him to deliver one-liners in front of a greenscreen. more
