The resort was built on a former sugar and coconut orchard dating back to the 1790s. The decorations on the desk chairs pay homage to the beauty and history of the island, incorporating elements of the natural flora and fauna found on the shores — a tribute to the island’s unofficial ambassadors, the Green Vervet Monkeys, brought here from sub-Saharan Africa and now one of the attractions of the island.
