I was out on the water yesterday and in the morning I noticed the trim down switch on the throttle was acting up. It would work after i hit it a couple times. As the day goes on the switch fails more and more until its completely not working. The down switch on the motor doesn't work either. I had to manually drop it down to get back to the ramp. The up trim works perfectly on both the throttle and motor switch. Any ideas on what it could be. Its a 2007 suzuki df 90. more

Edit: I replaced the power tilt trim relay and that fixed the problem. Pretty easy diagnosis and fix. Hardest problem was getting the ground wire off the old relay due to positioning. If anyone sees this and has the same problem feel free to pm me.

I don't know who you spoke to at Suzuki, but whoever it was needs to get a clue. Parts 18, 19, 20, & 21 in this parts diagram are all components of the tilt limit switch on your 2003 DF115. https://www.boats.net/catalog/suzuki. /clamp-brack

Number 18 is the cam that adjusts the up limit. You may have just wasted money on that new tilt/trim motor. here

I took the hot wire direct from battery to motors blue wire still only trims 1/3 up, it does the same thing without the jumper 1/3 way up

Although this is less reported, the issue is quite common. Due to a faulty starter motor, starting and restarting the engine becomes a problem. [links]
Out of all its 4-strokes, Suzuki 140 is probably the most interesting one. The engine owns the most alluring power-to-weight ratio. Delivering 140 HP from its mear 410-pound body.

In most cases, users find problems with cylinder number 4. The least severe and most common symptom is the blackening of the cylinder. This pattern suggests design issues by Suzuki.

At low RPMs, the engine seems to run ‘rough’. You may also call it ‘the engine missing’.

My buddy asked me to check out one of his 2006 175 four strokes, down trim works, up trim doesn't. Relay does not click when trying to trim up.
- Jumpered motor wires to switch polarity and have the operational down circuit run the motor up, works. [links]

Troubleshooting:
- Disconnected each of the switches, first the pan switch and actuated the binnacle switch with pan switch disconnected. Negative results.
