I changed the transom on a 14' boat once, wasn't too bad. But if it had been a fancier boat I'd have probably taken it in mostly for cosmetic reasons.

Estimates from a marina and boat repair place in Appleton were $2500-3000. Jim's Outboard up by the Austin Strable airport said he could do it as winter fill in work for $800.

Just started tearing my boat down, 16' SeaNymph from the 80's. Took 3 hours to get the transom apart and get rotten wood out. Gonna have to replace some hardware like screws and bolts. here

Leaving a hernia untreated for long is not wise as it gets worse and bigger with time. But you might be thinking how to know whether you have a hernia or not. If there’s a bulge on either side of the pubic bone, especially when you are standing or sitting upright then don’t turn a blind eye. This can be a hernia! here

Hernia is a disease. For every disease, there are certain dos and don’ts that a patient needs to follow. A hernia occurs when tissue protrudes from its original place . An interesting fact to note here is that inguinal hernia is very common in infants and children. The most appropriate treatment to repair a hernia is laparoscopic surgery, especially in infants because of the reducing risk of wound infection. here

In the case of hernia, doctors recommend surgery. There are two ways to treat hernia – “open” surgery and laparoscopic treatment. here

It is normal to lose appetite after the surgery. This could be due to the stress of surgery. Some foods that can speed up the healing process after hernia surgery- here

If you are diagnosed with a hernia, it is important to follow a set of instructions so that the condition doesn’t get worse before the surgery. more

This guide will show you the key golden rules that will help you with your Victorian house renovation. The best part is that they’re all accessible and easy to follow. You know what they say: do it once, do it right.

Recently, I met a former colleague with a shared passion for period conservation. After a hot choc, we wandered around the neighbourhood commenting on the facades, front gardens and numerous architectural crimes — the 70s did a lot of damage. We are strict with conservation and respecting the heritage. Like the Victorian Society with evil eyes. more

These features are closely linked to the value of your house. Remove them and the value will decrease. Do your house a favour and repair or reinstate them. Make the reclamation yard your new B&Q. It’s an easy decision, yet I see people ripping original fireplaces to fit basic stoves or painting over stone (check my bath stone restoration guide to avoid this mistake). [links]

I have a 92 Galaxie 18.5' 4.3 Cobra that I am going to do some interior work to and would love to see some pictures if anyone has this or a similar model. I am mainly looking for pictures of the doghouse and jump seats. What is in there now is very shoddily done (imaging a bad upholstery job on a big flimsy plywood cube), so I want to replace it with something a little nicer. I would like to make the jumpseats that have the removable seat bottom that can be raised up to the same level as the top of the doghouse to make a sun deck the width of the interior of the boat (probably common on a lot of boats, I've recently seen a couple of older Four Winns like that).

If you have photos of that and possibly how the jump seats (if that's the way you're set up) tie in, I'd love to see them. If you can't post them here, feel free to email them to me directly. Hopefully you can put some on here for everyone to see. I'd love to see how some people have tackled this same project, I'm sure there have been plenty who have fabbed their own doghouses and seats. more
