The Man with the Golden Gun follows James Bond (Roger Moore) as he hunts out three-nippled baddie Scaramanga (the ever-brilliant Christopher Lee) and his sidekick Nick Nack (Hervé Villechaize). Bond begins his journey in Beirut, then on to Macau and Hong Kong before coming face to face with Scaramanga in Thailand.

According to IMDB, the Thon Buri neighbourhood is definitely one of The Man with the Golden Gun film locations. Including the now-defunct temples, Wat Nang Nong and Wat Nang Chi which are in Thon Buri. [links]

  • In GoldenEye and Die Another Day he visits Cuba. In Dr. No he visits Jamaica including Kingston and the fictional island of Crab Key; Thunderball is set largely in the Bahamas. Bond visits the Bahamas again in Casino Royale, and the unofficial Bond film Never Say Never Again is also set in the Bahamas.
  • In Licence to Kill Bond goes to the fictional city of Isthmus City, which is based on Panama City . In Live and Let die he goes to the fictional San Monique.
  • Bond travels to Haiti in Quantum of Solace
  • Bond first goes to Rio de Janeiro , and up the Drax's secret facility in the Amazon jungle.
  • Bond returns to South America in Quantum of Solace when he travels to Asia

Although there is some real filming in St Petersburg in Russia, much of the tank chase was filmed on a massive set, built at the old Rolls Royce aircraft plant in Leavesden , Hertfordshire, which has since, of course, been developed to become the vast Leavesden Studio , home of the Harry Potter films and the Warner Bros Studio Tour.
