To correctly mount the 2D transducer does it have to above the LSS-1 Transducers if you mount on the transom?

I hate this type of grunt work but do feel better about after it's done. Now I'm going to have to remove my throttle shifter to be able pull the plug end through on my TD. Dang! more

So I've been trying to decide which chartplotter/fish finder to install in my 2019 SX210. From what I've found so far, there seems to be plus and minus to the various brands (garmin vs lowrance vs hummingbird) and it turns into a chevy vs ford comparison. Since I've decided that I am going to use an in-hull or shoot thru hull transducer, I'm wondering if the forum can be provide feedback on what the best transducer is for this mounting style and then I could select the brand/head unit from there. I'm looking at the 4" to 6" screen size.

It looks like a lot of people just mount the transom transducer that comes with the unit in the hull with epoxy. each manufacturer also specific in-hull transducer they sell seperatly as well. For those with in-hull transducer, any recommendations on a transducer that has worked well for them? anybody able to get down-imaging to work with an in-hull setup even though it's not recommended?

An example is the splitshot transducer from Lowrance is a transom mount unit but manufacturer says its OK to epoxy in-hull. Lowrance also makes a Pod shoot-thru in hull transducer- any thoughts on which is better. Anybody use an airmar P79 type in-hull transducer that you silicon a small tank to the hull and then fill with anti-freeze? more

First, which is better? Mounting it to my trolling motor, or mounting it on the back of the boat? Is there a plus or minus to either way?

Second, how far apart would i have to mount the two transducers to eliminate interference (if any) would they work if mounted together, or would i have to shut one off.

I already have the mount for the trolling motor, but i'm affraid i won't like the cords being in the way on the trolling motor. Was also thinking about mounting my Vexilar off of my trolling motor if i went with the other one out the back. Anyone have any tips on which is better? more

vulerable to bumps and bangs. I made a skeg and mounted a transom mount transducer on Bietzpadlin. It is at the stern and some have questioned the placement but my feeling is that fifteen feet isn't going to make much difference. more

Actually, the waterline on my transom is submerged about 2 to 3 inches w/o pax(MacGregor 25). But of course, under sail, one side or the other will likely be out of the water. Other problem I've got is with an OB rudder needing clearance on either side of that. Curious about the skeg mount that Ross mentioned. Got a drawing or photo to share?

No drawings but simple enough. The skeg here
