In short, you shouldn't. 2 Stroke Oil is designed for 2 stroke motorcycle engines, not 4 stroke vehicles. Vehicle manufacturers and fuel refining companies all agree that running 2 Stroke Oil in fuel is likely to cause complications and there have been reports of engine failures due to 2 Stroke Oil sludging up valves and fouling injectors. As fuel refineries have produced lower sulphur diesel, so too have they added lubrication substitutes to the new diesels to the point that lubrication is now even higher than that of high sulphur diesel.
The best way to improve diesel lubricity is to use an additive specifically designed for that purpose. To demonstrate this, we decided to test one of these products to see how much of an improvement you can get. For comparison purposes we decided to also test 2 Stroke Oil. [links]

For a detailed study on adding 2-stroke oil to diesel, please see: 2-Stroke Oil In Diesel – A Technical Study. This is the most substantive, peer-reviewed study done to date that doesn't rely on anecdotal evidence. here

The 3 samples were sent to an independent, accredited laboratory for testing on a High Frequency Reciprocating Rig (HFRR). The HFRR is used to measure diesel lubricity by rubbing a steel ball on a plate in a bath of fuel. The ball develops a flat spot over the course of the test which is called the wear scar, the diameter of which is the measure of diesel lubricity. All diesel sold in South Africa must pass this test with a maximum wear scar of 460 microns which ensures adequate lubricity for all diesel fuel systems. The 50ppm Forecourt diesel passed the test by a decent margin with a wear scar diameter of 363 microns. Surprisingly, the 50ppm diesel with 2 Stroke Oil actually decreased the lubricity by around 10% with a wear scar diameter of 396 microns. The NF Diesel Lubricity+ impressed by improving lubricity by around 33% with a wear scar diameter of 243 microns:

2-Stroke Outboards (Carbureted)
All carbureted 2-strokes must run with "double-oil" during the break-in period (Does not apply to TLDI models. Please see the TLDI break-in chart listed below). Normally your Tohatsu outboard uses a 50:1 oil/fuel mixture (1 pint of oil for every 6 gallons of gas). During the break-in period you should use a 25:1 oil/fuel mixture (2 pints of oil for every 6 gallons of gas). See our oil/fuel chart for more info on the 50:1/25:1 ratios.

As a result of running your outboard with a double-oil mixture, it is normal for your engine to emit more exhaust smoke than normal. You may also notice oil coming from the around the prop and/or from the exhaust relief port hole (located near the top of the lower unit) during this period. This is completely normal and you should see this excess oil eliminated once you finish your break-in period and resume the normal 50:1 oil/fuel mixture.

Tohatsu 2-stroke outboards use TCW3 oil which is specially formulated for 2-stroke outboards. Do not use automotive motor oil or any other type of oil in your Tohatsu 2-stroke outboard. We do not recommend mixing different brands of oil (or even different kinds of oil of the same brand). The mixing of different brands of oil may cause gelling which may cause blockage of the filter screens. This could lead to serious engine damage due to the lack of lubrication.

2-STROKE OUTBOARDS (CARBURETED) Normally your Tohatsu outboard uses a 50:1 oil/fuel mixture (500 mL of oil for every 25 liter of gas). During the break-in period you should use a 25:1 oil/fuel mixture (1000 mL of oil for every 25 liter of gas).

Furthermore, can you use too much 2 stroke oil?
Using the proper oil-to-gas ratio is important, but if you're off, it's better to mix too much oil into your engine than mixing too little oil. Excess oil can produce a smoky exhaust, oil leaking out of the muffler, and sometimes loss of power.
