It is also possible that there is a break in the wire somewhere. You will need to use a circuit tester like # 40376 if needed to test the wire as you work your way forward on the truck.

My left side wire for trailer on truck has no power. Chased. Itfytther back lookd like ot runs further in to truck. How can i figure this out?
It is possible that there is a blown fuse or relay related to the tow package wiring that is causing the problem. Use the vehicle owners manual to find the locations.
If the right side stop light also does not work it could be a blown stop light or CHMSL fuse. If the turn signal function works on that same circuit (a 7-Way has combined brake and turn signals at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions) then it could be a dirty or corroded trailer connector.

If all the ground connections look good, you should also make sure the current rating of your vehicle wiring harness is sufficient to handle the trailer lights.

Hello. I have a very similar issue to what was described by a previous individual brake lights, running lights and turn signals on both trailer lights work but when the running lights are on, neither turn signal on the trailer lights, will work. What I will include for information which was not included in the other individuals issues is that both hazard lights will work on the trailer while the running lights are on, so I dont understand why each individual turn signal will not work while the running lights are on. . I have taken apart the 4 blade trailer adapter, including testing each contact for continuity and each one is fine. Please help if you can with this as this is very frustrating. It is a 4 wire system: Ground white, Yellow, Green and Brown wires. Thank you for your help. more
I recommend checking to make sure your trailer connector's ground is secured to a clean bare metal surface on the trailer frame. Make sure that there is no debris or corrosion that may be preventing the required clean connection. You can also check to see that each individual light's ground is secure.
The most likely cause for the turn signals not to work when the running lights are on with your trailer is a bad or weak ground. It's very possible that a weak ground connection can be just strong enough to allow sufficient current for some lights to pass, but not enough for everything. With the running lights on, there may simply not be enough power to also activate the turn signal lights. Considering that all of the trailer rear light functions appear to work fine individually, this is very likely the issue. more
Please let me know if you are still unable to find the cause of this issue and I will be happy to look into this further. [links]
Good afternoon. I have a f350 truck and when the left signal, right signal and stop lights are not working but the other lights do. It is a round plug and I have determined it is not the trailer but something with the wiring harness of the truck. Any suggestions? Thank you.
First you will want to clean the connector and make sure there is no corrosion on the pins. You may also need to remove the wires from the connector as corrosion can build up in the connector. If all of the connection points are corrosion free, then begin testing the pins or the wires themselves. here
I would also recommend checking for any blown fuses if you have the tow package. I have attached a wiring article for you to review while troubleshooting your wiring harness.

Burnt out bulbs: As with all light bulbs, turn signal lights can burn out and die. Turn signal lights usually last many years before burning out, however they can die earlier than expected with high frequency of use.
A top-rated mobile mechanic will come to your home or office to determine the source and cause of the nonworking turn signal, and will then provide a detailed inspection report that includes the scope and cost of the necessary repairs.
Answer: Most likely the problem is within the switch, the canceling mechanism might have failed.
