Re: Can a hitch be inverted?
A hitch insert is usually described in both it's "drop" and "rise" dimensions. So of course you can turn it over. But note a 2" drop insert will not be a 2" rise. When you flip it over, you'll understand. here
My boat is about #1540 total weight in tow, and the tounge weight is at #203 as measured by my bathroom scale (with the trailer level).
I know the max tounge weight for a Class 1 is #200, so I need to adjust the trailer to shift the boat back a little to reduce the tounge weight.
Will feel better if I can get that weight down to about #170 or #180.

Though many have been taught that the ability to roll your tongue is reliant on genetic factors, studies have shown that this trait can be learned. [1] X Research source Genetics might have actually little to do with your ability to do this! [2] X Research source [3] X Research source So forget what you might have been told about being able to roll your tongue and get ready to train your tongue muscles!
Also very interested to hear/see your storage ideas for all the towing bits, as it is a struggle to fit it in the standard boot foam compartments.
I use a rapid hitch to set different heights for the tow ball. I sent part of my hitch to the makers of the McHitch to get a pin made to suit their trailer system.here
Now with the new 2.7 D4 in the garage for the past month and the Jayco 18.57-9 Outback version on order I will again need a new height no doubt. However this time I think only fine tuning will be needed i.e. flipping the tow bar tongue 180 degrees. Is this condoned and if so does it impact the load ratings at all?
current mounting orientation below
Over the past 2 years I have amassed a small collection of tow bar options for the various combinations of Camper Trailers, Off Road Caravans, etc that I have towed.
Hi all,here
I am another one that needs a little more height from my tow ball for the MY10 RRS.
How does the tongue flip trick work for you?
I have a hard time getting it to flip at all, so I’m dead in the water. ;(
I’m thinking if you could get someone else to touch it, it might work better for you.
Nope, I don’t feel anything different with my tongue, either. Just feels I’m touching it where I’m touching it. more
