By using this site, you agree to our Terms of Use. Contact Seller 1979 Imp INCA,Currently own two boats and need to sell as I am getting married. Thus I do not get to keep two boats anymore. The boat and trailer both have a clear and clean title. Details: Price: $6,500 OBO (I have invested more time and money selling at this price is at a loss)Year: 1979 Brand: IMP Model: INCALength: 23'6" lake cruiser with a cuddy. (does have room for a port-o-potty but I moved that to my other boat) Engine: 260hp OMC. MANY updated parts and had the lower unit professionally rebuilt two summers ago. It does have an 80 gallon gas tank. The engine runs smooth! Trailer: I have updated the trailer to make it easy to load the boat. The trailer has 4 drum brakes-tires are ok Other Details: Over the past few years I have been working on refinishing and refurbishing this boat as the pictures show I gutted the boat to fiberglass and rebuilt all woodwork and upholstery. I really do enjoy this boat. The boat is great on the river, lake Minnetonka, or any big water. The hull design is ahead of its time it handles rough water exceptionally well and for a boat this size turn really sharp. The size of the boat is just big enough to enjoy having a bunch of friends and family out but small enough you can trailer. On 5/4/14 I started and cleaned the boat so it is ready to be used for fishing opener! I currently have the boat in my driveway but, will bring it out to storage next to lake Minnetonka. I look forward to finding the boat a new home. The best time to contact me is during the day as I work in the evenings. up for sale is my 27 foot IMP express cruiser. it has a 260 hp 5.7 Mercruiser engine with an Alpha 1 outdrive. The boat has about 200 hours on its original engine. Options include: Vberth and mid cabin bed, bathroom with Thetford Electroflush toilet, sink, Television, water heater, Norcold refridgerator, stove top, 3500 watt inverter/charger, shorepower, power antenna, stereo, trim tabs, 4 battery hookup ( 2 starting, 2 deep cycle ) with battery switch, depth finder, CB radio, and hatch air conditioner. This boat has not been used in 4 years, but has been cleaned up each season and was properly winterized. The pictures speak for themselves. If you want to get into a cruiser, this is the most inexpensive chance you will see. I just can't get to use it right now and hate to see it sit. The boat also comes with a 10,000 lb. trailer, as well as mooring and control covers. Things that will need to be addressed: 1) power steering pump has a slow leak. It works fine, but power steering fluid is dripping into the bilge. ( new seal or pump ). 2) The batteries are certainly going to need replacement. ( they are not in the boat - stored indoors, but I am sure they are too old now to be any good. - 3) Trailer gross weight on title is incorrect. - can be changed if you care to. Both boat and trailer are pa registered and I have clear titles. - good luck and happy bidding! more

There really is no free lunch with either setup on a big heavy 28ft + boat. more

Balance is also a catch 22. The torque steer of a single engine sucks much worse than a heavy rear ended twin setup IMO. [links]

I think the maintenance issue is a catch 22. Obviously its less to maintain two than one, but on a heavy 28ft boat the cost can be less overtime to maintain two motors. A heavy single engine 28ft boat will go thru motors and drives much faster than a twin. In the long run I think you may find it cost more to maintain a single high performance 500hp+ motor and drives than twin stock 415hp 502's or 365-385hp 454's on a heavy 28ft boat. In short, assuming a single engine 28ft boat has 500hp+ it will have shorter rebuild time and cost just as much to refurbish than a twin engine stock setup. Gas on a single vs twin is about 25-33% less, not the 50% you might expect.
