The Gyro Cam Mk2 "Black Eye" is a quick deployment sticky camera that is encased in a tinted silicone ball, coated in micro-suction cups, the quick deploy camera maintains a clear view thanks to the internal gyroscope that dictates the angle of the lens. The suction cups allow the camera to adhere to any surface, while the gyroscope mounted lens stabilizes the camera angle and focus. [links]

This was good timing since the Gyro Cam Mk2's stabilization was due for a checkup anyway. Tests confirm that the camera is keeping the image on target at all times. I'd like to compare the evaluation of Specialist Adriano "Maestro" Martello's Evil Eye since I think it's using a different stabilizer design than mine. I understand that Specialist Emmanuelle "Twitch" Pichon worked on that and I'd like to compare notes with her.

A Medium Armored Operator, Valkyrie's unique gadgets are three Mk2 "Black Eye" Gyro Cams, portable sticky cameras that can attach on almost any surface for increased surveillance. [links]

Castellano isn't used to being around so many high-achievers. She's always been at the top of the class - the go-to person. The only other time that she felt "against the wall", as she put it, was during SEAL training. Normally I'd encourage her to interact with someone who can understand what she went through, another SEAL such as Specialist Craig "Blackbeard" Jenson, but I know he was one of the instructors during her Hell Week and while she respects him, I don't detect any great fondness there, either. more

Beyond her deployments, Castellano doesn't travel. Vacation is home near the sand and surf. This hermit lifestyle doesn't entirely seem like it's her natural state of being. The intense pressure she's putting on herself needs some sort of. fulcrum. She's no longer carrying the banner for female operators alone and needs to accept the support of her peers. I'm convinced understanding this will help her find equilibrium. It will take some convincing. But we have time. [links]

She changed her focus after high school and enlisted in the United States Navy in the early 2000s. Castellano served four years before attending college on the Veterans Affairs bill . After graduating with a degree in Computer Science, specializing in Security and Cryptography, she transferred to the Navy's Information Dominance Corps . In 2007, Castellano collaborated with GROM Operator Elżbieta Bosak in Operation Orange Sky, acting as her source of intel.

It's a consumer product, like they promised. I can't wait to see what else happens on the software front as we move forward, nor can I wait to continue exploring the launch titles available now. [links]

It's hard to say how much is the resolution increase, lens improvements, or improvements to the Elite code. It's probably all 3. [links]

The flaring while there is not horrible in my opinion. I have yet to have it happen to any large extent at a time when it matters or have it detract from the game. In all honest it actually looks like a fancy bloom effect in most of the common times I notice it. The worst have been the title screens like mentioned and that doesn't matter that much. Also both the RIFT and the vive use very similar optics but my understanding is the vibe uses a traditional fresnel lens vs the hybrid in the RIFT. Downside to the traditional fresnel lenses is there will be ghostly rings on the view almost all the time. I have some fresnel lenses I have messed around with and they go from not to bad to the only thing I can see based on the brightness of the scene and any hmd light bleed. The RIFT on the plus side has not ghost rings at all ever. And it has a very good face seal with pretty much zero light bleed. So all things considered I think I would rather have something that occasionally looks like a bloom effect on items outside of your direct line of sight than something that almost always has light rings over the while view.

My remote was rattling around inside the box upon arrival, and my AA's were roaming free. I think the cardboard part the camera was clipped to was flapping around and let the batteries out, and knocked the remote out of its clip.

How do you know if your router is capable of producing PoE?
You'll need to check your router’s model number against the manufacturer to tell whether or not your device is capable of producing PoE. If your device is more than a year or two old, however, odds are it's not capable of producing PoE. [links]

Do PoE devices such as Stick Up Cam work with standard (non-PoE) devices such as routers?
Yes. If you connect a non-PoE router to a PoE device such as a Stick Up Cam or a PoE router to a non-PoE device it will provide networking as usual but the device will have to connect to another source of power to work. more

Are there any risks with using PoE with my Ring device?
No. PoE can be used with any Ring devices that are PoE-enabled such as Ring Stick Up Cam Elite. All current and future Ring products with PoE capability are engineered to IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at standards. If you can connect your network cables, you should have no difficulty connecting your device to a PoE producing switch or router and having it draw power. [links]

Does hooking up a PoE connection require any special electrical knowledge?
No. You will connect your PoE connection at the same time as you hook up your network cables as both power and data are routed through the same cable.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a protocol that transmits both data and power simultaneously to network devices, greatly reducing the cost of installation and maintenance. This allows the placement of devices such as the Ring Stick Up Cam security camera in areas without conventional power supplies. This article will explain Power over Ethernet and answer some of the most frequently asked questions about it.
