When worn, the Traditionnelle Twin Beat perpetual calendar beats at a high frequency that is aligned with modern active lifestyles, displaying the hours, minutes, date, month, leap year cycle and power reserve on its dial. When the watch is not being worn, its in-house developed calibre 3610 QP can be slowed down in order to guarantee an extended power reserve of at least 65 days.
Guidelines: for daily use, activities on the surface of the water (e.g. leisure swimming, diving from the pool edge but not from a diving board).
Not for underwater swimming.
Concept of water-resistance
Except for certain models, Vacheron Constantin watches are designed and manufactured to be water-resistant to at least 30 meters.

The working codename for the movement was Genenergy – GENeva ENERGY. The original concept was to save energy in every part of the movement and to produce the most efficient system possible. here
Moser Perpetual is perhaps the same concept, first used in the UN, but taken to the limit. It not only features the convenience of the crown fast adjustment in both directions, it also features the Flash Calendar system. This system causes all the indicators to jump instantaneously, but also to avoid showing the non-existant dates on short months.
The perpetual calendar system used in the Twin Beat is a development over the VC Caliber 2755. The 2755 is used in many of VC’s earlier perpetual calendar. One example is the VC Atelier Maître Cabinotiers.The system uses a dragging system, where all indicators move slowly to the new date over a period of time. In the new movement, the system uses a low energy system of small springs (remontoire like, but as it is not within the power flow of the movement train, we refrain from using the term) and a snail mechanism to affect the instant jumps. This guilloché is quite interesting. The sections are engraved with a radial pattern, and this only extends to a semi-circle, as the dial is only half. The traditional Rose Engine used for guilloché is usually set up to make the engravings in a circle, and having only half a circle to execute presents the operator with additional challenges as the blade needs to be lifted from one side of the half dial to the other. And the dial or adjustments may have moved while the blade is being moved.
With the Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar, Vacheron Constantin has moved beyond the conventional range of oscillator frequencies for the first time. In doing so, new in-house areas of research and development were opened concerning the fundamental principles of mechanical timekeeping regulation. here

Gold hand-guilloché slate-coloured dial (inner part) and transparent sapphire-crystal dial

This system is inspired by the seasonal system from the Japanese Edo Period (1603 – 1868), which divided day and night into six segments, of which the length varied from day to night and from one season to another. Clocks from this period were equipped with a single or double foliot balance enabling automatic changes in their operating speed. A similar Japanese lantern clock from the very beginning of 18th century, belonging to the Musée International d’Horlogerie based in Switzerland, is exhibited on Vacheron Constantin’s booth at the SIHH 2019.

Presented at SIHH 2019 in Geneva by Vacheron Constantin, the Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar is a user-controlled dual-frequency mechanical watch featuring a patent-pending system for lossless timekeeping transition between high-frequency Active mode (5Hz) and low-frequency Standby mode (1.2Hz). This timepiece also features a patent-pending system for the instantaneous jumping indications for the perpetual calendar.
