Pink diamond shades are thought to be due to changes to the electron structure, called “plastic deformation” during the voyage to the surface. Pink diamonds are associated with the Argyle mine in northwestern Australia, which produces an estimated 90% of all natural pink diamonds in the world. However, pink diamonds have also been found in Brazil, Tanzania, and India.

Because of the steady and exponential growth of fancy colored diamonds, a small case of fancy colored diamonds can be discreetly passed from one generation to the next. Those with multiple heirs should consider a higher number of fancy colored diamonds with less value, as those with fewer heirs should consider the opposite.

The Yellow Diamonds are the most common colored diamonds so they are less costly than others. The demand for yellow diamonds is very high and only the Pink Diamonds can match their demand. The demand for a certain color rises drastically if influential individuals obtain the diamond. This was seen when Jennifer Lopez was proposed to with a pink diamond ring and Paris Hilton was proposed to by a yellow diamond ring.

Blue is the second rarest fancy color. The second position has always been a battle between blue and pink, but the pink seems to be a bit more common than the blue. The most famous Blue Diamonds are the Hope Diamond and the Wittelsbach Graff. Hope Diamond Wittelsbach Graff more

Red diamonds are so rare in nature, finding any is difficult (in fact, at the time of this writing, James Allen has zero in stock, and they carry thousands of fancy diamonds).

Secondly, you can tell by the price. Fancy diamonds are quite expensive (their most expensive diamond right now is a yellow diamond, 47.22 carats, selling for $2,431,690). [links]

Rare means hard to find in nature (so all those pinks and blues you see in stores are NOT RARE). Taking an off-color, or poor color (like yellow, brown, or gray) diamond, and zapping it with heat to make it pink, blue, yellow, green, whatever color, is not rare. It’s a good use of poor quality diamonds (makes them sellable and beautiful), but they are not rare. Any jeweler can send any diamond in to have this process done. here

The difference between “fancy color” and “color enhanced” is the difference between real colors and man-made colors (jewelry stores carry tons of enhanced diamonds, but very few fancy diamonds). more
